Hi all you ladies!!

It has been very long since I wrote something here!

It seems like most of you are doing well! There has been happening so much stuff these couple of days, Karla started crawling, now I run after her the whole day, everywhere she goes I go behind her, doors of the bathrooms is left shut, rooms must be shut and I even have to keep her out of the kitchen otherwise she plays with the cat's drinking water!!! This is a lot of work but a whole lot of fun and it is so adorable...

She also started clapping her hands whenever we tell her to clap her hands. we say: "klap handjies" then she immediately does it, too cute for words!

This morning she started waving, we will wave to her and sy "hallo" or "baai" and she would wave and say some stuff in baby language, although it sounds as if she wants to say "hallo" back...

I love this time and age, they are so interactive and so cute!

One thing I was wondering about is if your babies get up from when they are lying on their backs, because Karla refuses to roll, always did, but not anymore. And she can't seem to get up into a sitting position from lying on her back?

How is all the eating going? Karla is eating very well. I tried giving her Olli's 10 month (stage 3) lentil casserole, and rice pudding or something, it is very lumpy and has a lot of texture, but she loved it and didn't gag at all! Maybe it really worked giving her the food I cook instead of purity!!

I wanted to go to the Joburg moomie meet, but something came up and I can't go anymore... such a pity, but oh well next time!

@sScribblingAl - you must let me know which day is the most flexible for you then we can go to the orphanage, or we must go on a saturday or something... let me know, I am very flexible.

Have a good day ladies!!
:woohoo:

She got into the basket all on her own...

hi ladies!!

wow your babies have all developed so nicely!!
Scribbling I just wanted to say something :)
I never crawled. I just sat. I didnt even try roll to get things. And then I only walked at 16 months. I have never had any learning problems or anything (apparently if you dont crawl you have learning difficulties)
so don't stress!! although I know mom's like their babies to be in the majority and not the minority!

Hi Bundle. I'm still making my own food, but we've been supplementing it over the holidays with Woolies fresh baby food and Olli. Back to normal life, however, so it's back to Mommy's food for poor Emily :woohoo: If you Inbox or Facebook me your email address I'll forward you the Annabel Karmel meal planner. That might help a bit.

Congrats on all the new developments - the tooth and the crawling and the pulling himself up - they're all huge!!! Holding thumbs you're right about the crawling. I read somewhere that if they haven't crawled by 9 or 10 months there could be a problem... But then again some babies never crawl, so let's not get ahead of ourselves :silly: Emily's going for her shots on Monday. I cannot believe that we're already talking about nine-month stuff here.

Happy New Year!!!

2010 was such a special year for all of us, the year our Bundles were born, to think this time last year we were big and round, I remember how this heat was so crappy, today its apparently 38 in CT, you have got to feel for the preggy mommies out there.

Its been a while since I've been on here and so much has happened. Luke has just blossomed so much since I was on leave. He took his first crawl before christmas for both mommy and daddy to see, its great that now we can put him down on the floor and he entertains himself by crawling all over the place to anything and everything he sees. He also pulls himself up and when we walk with him he steps one foot in front of the other.

We also got our first tooth, YAY! noticed it last week when he bit down on my finger. He didn't have any symptoms, last night he was waking up crying during the evening so not sure if it was just the heat or his tooth hassling him, brought him to bed with us and had the fan on in our room and he slept fine then.

@ScribblingAl, Luke also started rolling around to get to his toys etc and now he is crawling so give it a month or 2 and you should have a crawler on your hands :)

Took Luke for his 9 month measles shot on Monday. He weighs 9.3kg's and 71cm in length. His weight has slowed down guess now that he is active.

Are you all still making your own food? Hows that going, Luke has been on Purity for a while, but we are struggling with the stage 3 as its chunkier and it seems he does not like the texture.

What is a typical mealplan for a 9 month old, anyone know?

Desiree, good to have you back. Going to the clinic for 8-month jabs on Monday so then we'll know how much madam weighs. All I'm saying is that her cozzie is 12 to 18 months and just fits. Sigh. of course once she starts crawling she's going to lose it all... (keep telling yourself that).

Clapping's a huge milestone. I think it has to do with their hand/eye coordination. Emily's not crawling but she's figured out how to roll to an object. So she'll roll to the left, which moves her forward a bit, and then she'll roll to the right, which moves her a bit more, until finally she reaches her destination. It's all quite complicated and I can actually see her doing all the mental calculations. Crawling would be a lot easier but she hasn't seemed to realise that moving her legs would get her further, faster.

I'd love to go to the Moomie meeting but unfortunately I'm working that Sat - could have done the Saturdays in either direction but I guess it wasn't meant to work out that way.

Ladies!!!! its been aaaaaaaaaaaages since i've posted in out thread, gosh, t hings have been so hectic!! I have been reading whenever I can, so I try to keep up to date with the progress of all your lo's......sjoe!! seems like we have some real STARS in this thread - all the babies are either standing, pulling themselves up.....crawling........saying words (VERY impressed @Jacadebra) - you girls inspire me to try even harder with Connor!!

So....we have officially 1 month left before we officiall move to Cape Town, I am finishing off at my current company and I will then be officially unemployed in CPT...ha ha ha - will spend some quality time with Connor though, so its all good!! Although....I would like to find daycare for him so that I can have freedom to go for interviews....get the house sorted, etc

CPT moms - would love to meet you when we are down there!!

An update on Connor - he is now about 10.3kgs....has 4 teeth & is at long last doing crawling movements...although, he has b een pulling himself up to stand for a while now....@ScribblingAl, I think maybe he was also more keen to walk...he he.....

Ooooh, also, not sure if this is a biggie or not, but Connor has started clapping - its very cute...he claps for anything and everything now.....and when I lay him down in his cot to sleep, he sits up immediately & just claps....or stands up in the cot........so, suddenly, sleep time is a little tricky......he he....but its very cute to watch!

Are any of the JHB moms going to the Moomie meet on 15 Jan? I have a birthday party to attend for another mommy friend of mine in the afternoon, but Im defs going to the meet as well.

Happy New Year to everyone!!!!

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Happy new year every one!

Back to the grindstone after what didn't feel like much of a holiday. Too much happening, and of course you try to cram in as much as possible so you land up getting no time to just be.

Been checking out the videos of all the babas on Facebook and the like. They're all getting so big and so cute! The crawling videos are adorable.

Jacadebra, you're right about Emily being more interested in walking than crawling. We've had NO developments crawling-wise, but she's standing, holding onto things for support. Thinks she's ever so smart until she falls down and screams blue murder. Yay on the talking - that's amazing! Also on the teething - we've had no new developments on that side either. Think Emily's reached a bit of a plateau in terms of development.

Nanny's coming back tomorrow. I almost cried when she phoned today to say she's back. This house is disgusting, and it's not for a lack of trying  . Beansmom, You-You must be back by now. Lucky fish!

Zulu, don't stress about the weight. She'll lose it quick quick now that she's mobile.
