Vicky- I agree with the Jo regarding the measurements.
Also the 4D scan can be done up until about 33 weeks. At this stage babe gets too big. Booking depends on how busy your chosen hospital is. I didn't have a problem getting a booking as Crompton does not have a large maternity ward although they do have 5 gynaes...

I am exhausted today!!! Might go home at lunch time and work there. I was up from drinking hot choc and watching TV at 3am.

Thanks vicky. I was gonna go to the office today, cos I had quite a hectic schedule planned, but have decided to rather just rest. I am drinking rooibos tea (not my fav), but its supposed to be good for you. Rest and tea and if I'm not better by tomorrow mmmmmm more rest and tea! Must admit with the cold mizzy weather in cape town, I'm not complaining too much about being able to get back into bed. Which is what I'm gonna do now - really!

Juandre - your just a fountain of knowledge this morning - melon, charcoal and Reutri thanks for that.

vicky - don't stress about the epi. I know its easier said that done, but its really, really not that bad. I have deep veins in my arms and the nurses often battle to draw blood, or set up drips on me and I can honestly say that I dread the drip more than the epi (speaking from my previous experiance). I would check with Dr regarding the measurements. I don't think your baba has shrunk - lol. But I know that in the beginning they can measure the baby from crown to rump, but then at some stage baby gets too long for this and they can only measure the femer and then the machine calculates, based on the length of the femur and estimated total length, so maybe the one week he was able to measure completely and then the next week he moved onto femur measurements - which has a greater room for Dr error. Check with him though. I'm sure everything is fine.

Newbie - forgot to comment on your little monster. 1.4kgs, shew-wee!! where are you storing all that baby, you must be so uncomfortable and heavy by now. Dr joked with me and said that I will be begging him to take baby out and just give me room to breath in a few months time. Maybe we can take bets as to who is gonna "cry uncle" first - you or me..... hehhehehe - think we have an interesting few weeks ahead. Especially as the last few weeks the littlies start putting on body fat and can gain upto 250grams per week - eek!!

Vicky - hope you get the shower you are hoping for.

newbie- pics look lovely.. you really are glowing.

joc- i had a bug early on in pregnancy and i was in hospital they allowed me to drink pectrolyte.. for the cramps and the diahrea( spelling sorri) it really helped but so far into pregnacy im not sure what else can be used.. but yeah reuteri drops are excellent and can use with baby so im sure it should be safe.there is a bad tummy bug going around aparently . try to keep yourself as hydrated as possible and rest. if it carries on rather see the gp.cos getting dehydrated can be bad.

sindy d - ive already 100+ so dont stress.. i figure as long as baby is healthy it doesnt matter it a small price to pay for haveing a healthy baby. 6kgs in 3 weeks..maybe you are carrying water like suggested.. are you very swollen????

patty - heartburn omg , felt like i was dying yesterday nothing i had helped.. and normally half a gaviscon does the trick.. eventually downed two glasses of milk it did help but only tempoarily.

newbie- im not in any antenatal classes someone was complaining about their class being a bit shy and i was giving my two cents. ha ha lol. i pretty much think it is all part of being allthough with my previous pregnancies i experienced lots of cramps... atleast the pins and needles is not sore just uncomfortable. i was just wondering if everyone else was experiencing it. i was also worried it might be affecting blood flow to baby somehow...........im not scared of the iminent birth of baby..allbeit caesarrian . im gonna say it again.. extremely scarred of the epidural... im actually dreaming about it.arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... ...

im rather confused about the whole weight of baby issue. i was 26 weeks when i last went to gynae.. doctor measured baby at 18.65cm and weighing 895g... he said this is normal however when i went home checked on old scans from previous visit at 21 weeks baby was already 21cms and weighed just under 500gms i am now confused ive never heard of babies "shrinking" is it possible he couldve measured wrong, it was a different machine and this machine was old and not so clear.i didnt say anything at the time. but its been worrying me. also have any of you booked beds. im giving birth at the linmed in benoni. my doc says he will only give the letter for booking next visit , i will already be 30 weeks and worried about the 4d scan. up to how many weeks can you still go for the 4d??? and how long is the normal waiting period???

ashbabe - i feel you on the subject of babyshower also dont have family here and not many friends more works colleagues. however i know when i was about 16 weeks the lady that works next to me had told me that they wanted to plan something for me... however at the time there was another pregnant lady who gave birth about two weeks ago. she very quiet and not many ppl at the office know her. but they said they couldnt plan something for me with out doing something for her.. so when she was about 30 wks we threw her a baby shower.. it was nice and she got very nice stuff. now i am almost 28 wks and wondering if they are doing anything for me as everything has gone very very quiet. my husband and i work at same office so thought they might use him to get me out of the office while they set up( as i am extremely nosy and nothing goes past me)ha ha lol. last nite i was telling my husband whens my baby shower. .?? and hes acting all inocent, he doesnt know.. so all i said was he better give me a indication that that day is the day so atleast i can put on some makeup and look lively for the photos.he just laughed.. so now im stumped. well if they dont plan anything and nothing happens ill just leave it. i know ive got no chance of getting a baby shower any where else.. so .......
im really really blabbing today .. got so much on my mind..

Sindy- you may have put on that weight as a growth spurt. I put on 1.5kg's one week and cried my eyes out until the lady at weighless explained that you can go through growth spurts.

Patty- try melon for the heartburn. I have heard it is very good as well as being full of vit C.

Ashbabe- I have pins and needles in my hands every night. It has to do with the water retention.

Newbie- I had a wonderful experience with my c-section. It really is nothing to be scared of. I was petrified of the epidural as I had had a bad lumber puncture but you don't even feel them doing it.
I think you look stunning in your baby shower pictures. Wish my tummy was that small!!!

Jo-C- hope you and Ethan feel better soon. You can take a probiotic (like Reteuri drops) and Charcoal tablets.
