Any women here that are rape survivors?

I just wanted to share a story:

Yesterday I had a patient in labour. She is 25 years old and having her first baby.
She explained to me that she was raped by a guy who use to be a friend. He is now in jail.

Her mom and gran convinced her to keep the baby as she wanted to give the baby for adoption. Gran was with her for the delivery.

Once baby was out, I placed him onto her chest and she fell in love instantly. She said "I love you MY baby - you are gorgeous" and she just kept staring at him

I asked her to please not hold anything against this tiny bundle of joy as he did not ask to come to this world from those conditions.

She told me even though baby has that 'assholes' ears, he is her pride and joy and she never knew the love a mother could feel.

I felt truely blessed to be part of such a special moment for both mother and baby

And so the thread comes to an end....well atleast it was nice to talk my dark soul out....enjoy

Wowee! a new Mommy, mommy22, thank you for sharing your story, I hope this thread will help you, it sure is helping me by knowing that I'm not alone and that here I can say and express my feelings and sometimes cry and pray for you all and with you all.
