question-circle Mommy's to be due in April 2010

Awww Mommy21, you look great!

The two piece clothes I was referring to are those shirts that only come down as far as babies middle. They tend to ride up to under the arms since babies are handled so much. If you do have them and find them cute, just put a vest underneath that buttons between the legs. At least then, if the shirt rides up your baby won't have a cold tummy!

I remember those days when my tummy was getting too big. I have to say, even though I'm up more in the night I found it much better to sleep without a big old tummy in the way :)

Hi Pinky and Congrats on being pregnant! Wow our due dates are close together mine is the 15 April! Do you know your LO's sex already? I am having a girl!

I have about 7 baby grows with buttons in the front and 5 leggings with long sleeve vests(Are these the 2 pieces the other mommies are talking about?) Maybe should consider taking them back as I have not cut off the swing tags yet, dont want to make LO uncomfortable.

I'm finding it harder and harder to fall asleep nowadays my tummy just gets in the way and no amount of pillows makes it easier :(

I've posted a pic of my belly

Good point with the button up babygrows Jana. Most babies scream for the first couple of weeks when they are bathed and dressed, you will be SO happy to be done quickly you wouldn't want to take those clothes off again!

Welcome Pinky and congrats! It is so exciting! I agree with Marijke, although I will advise to buy babygrows that "button-up", I found these the easiest to put on the tiny bodies. I agree, cute outfits is a waste of money because it is such a hassle to put it on, that your baby rarely wears it.

Put pics up of your bellies ladies!

Welcome Pinky and congrats! Not long to go anymore although I found the last 4 weeks the hardest to deal with, possibly because I carried till 40 weeks 3 days.

Oh April babies, I think next time I want an April baby too :)

Well seen as it's going to be rather cool by then, long sleeves will do the trick with almost all your clothes. Buy one or two outfits which are a bit cooler (not shorts and a t-shirt :P just a cooler material) and 2 or more short sleeved vests. For the rest you don't really need more than 6 - 8 outfits and vests. Two piece clothes don't work very well because the shirts keep riding up and its just irritating. Although cute outfits are just that, cute, some of them are a waste of money. Don't spend too much money on newborn clothes, this is also something people love to give at baby showers so wait till your baby shower is over and done with before you make a list of what you still need.

If your baby doesn't have reflux then you can get away with the same clothes a couple of days in a row. But if you have a messy baby you will find yourself washing baby clothes once a week, so 6 - 8 of everything will be more than enough.

Above all just remember, the stores don't close the minute your baby is born! You can always send your husband if you see something you forgot. :)

Hi ladies

I am also an April mommy, and it is my first baby!!! My due date is 14 April... can't wait anymore!

Can anyone of you advise on how many clothes etc. a newborn is going to need? I want to get some more clothes, but don't want to buy too many of one size...

It is good having a forum to chat on...
