Kim's classes are in June so I unfortunately cant go that route as my due date is 15 April! :( Will have to take the midwife route with a supporting gynae!

Please let me know how you experience Kim's classes and how the birth went. It would be nice to hear from someone who went through the programme. I really want to try a hypnobirth next time.

When is your due date?

HI ladies

Thanks for the advice I found Kim's number on the Genesis Clinic website so will give her a call in a bit I hope she can take me on as a patient! I read about Kim's hypnobirthing classes on PF they'll be in Gauteng but I will have given birth already as they in June :( Kim is my best bet or maybe she can refer me to someone else!

I will let you know what happens

Also check out www.beautifullyborn.co.za. Kim does hypnobirthing. I'm not sure where you live, but she is in Cape Town. She is also going to Gauteng soon to give classes there as well.

I have heard great things about a midwife named Sue King - perhaps if you could call Linkwood or Genesis Clinics they'll tell you how to get in touch with her or if she is too busy to help you could ask her for a referral. Just a thought ;)

Marijke I think using a midwife would be a good idea but yet I dont know anyone who has used one before or where I can get a good reference to one! Need to make a decision fast as I have not seen my doc this month so I think I should start researching a midwife!

Thanks for the advice

Mommy21 if you at any point feel uncomfortable then switch doctors. I agree that its way too much money to spend on a 5 minute visit. My doctor always did a checkup and scan, then waited in her office for me to collect myself. I was always out the door in 5 minutes because when ever she sat me down to ask if I had any questions or concerns I wouldn't have anything to say because I've already gotten answers to silly questions from the girls on the chat :)

Why don't you consider using a midwife and only use your doctor as a back up?
