Ok SO maybe I shouldnt try Penthadine then? I think I'll push natural as long as I can! Or maybe try the gas you inhale apparently that works for a bit but havent met any1 wu has used it!

Do you ladies think it is too late for me to change docs? I'm 32wks2days I like my doc but everytime I am there I spend 5 mins with him and he already stands and shows me the door! The nurses there already know if I am coming I go before wu ever is there no matter how late I am. I know I have had a uncomplaicated pregnancy but I pay a lot of money just to spend 5 mins with him. ANd then last week I wasn't feeling well and went to see my GP instead of my Gynae and my GP picked up that I had a Urinary Tract Infection and I had been to the gynae a week before and he never picked up on it! I Dont know maybe I am paranoid but I dont want think what he might say when I am in labour! I am going out my mind

Mommy21, that's exactly why my husband and I kept the gender of our baby a secret until she was born because if you tell everyone its a girl then the next question is name and I just didn't want anyone to know what we have decided on.

I know I shouldn't feel guilty about how B came into this world because I'm sure it was preplanned by some higher power, but I think as women we worry and feel guilty about everything concerning our little ones. And as you know hindsight is 20/20 and I keep thinking about what I could have done differently. Even Deja, who had exactly the birth she had planned felt guilty afterwards for screaming

Mommy21, they inject it in your bum. It makes you "zoned-out" between contractions, but isnt really effective as a pain reliever.

At the end of they day, it is your baby and you can name your baby whatever you want. I actually found that you should not tell anyone, because EVERYONE has something to say about the name you choose. Rather introduce your baby after you named her, then no-one can say anything anymore!

Hi Mommies

Marijke Deja is right dont feel guilty you have a healthy LO and at the end of the day thats what matters! i'll try natural as far as I can but if complications do arise(touching wood) i will have to go for a c section. Wow Deja your birth story is lovely I just hope in a few weeks time I will have the energy to post mine!

How was the penthadine? And how do they administer it? guess i'll have to start attending antenatal classes this weekend so I have all these Q's answered!

Names oh thats a sore point LOL EVERYONE in my family wants to name my LG, we have about 20 names already everyday\week i get a new sms with names so i dont want to 'upset' anyway! All I know is i will be the only 1 in the hospital when the birth registration form comes :-)

I had a natural birth with no epidural. I did have a pethadine injection, though. Here is my birth story, although I think I dramatised a bit. So please dont let it scare you. I wouldnt want it any other way now! Birth story

I would, however, try and have a calmer birth next time. Maybe try some meditation or something.

I also weighed 50kg's before birth and gained a whopping 23kg! I have managed to come down to 57kg, but am breastfeeding, so I think I'll shed another two or so when I stopped. I want to be about 54kg.

I live in the Northern Cape.

Marijke, do not feel guilty! You tried everything you could and now you have a lovely healthy beautiful, very unique little girl!

Congrats Mommy21! You really don't have that far to go anymore. I was also symptom free, if you could call it that. I carried till 40 weeks 3 days and the last 2 weeks weren't fun, I could barely make it up the stairs without needing to have a lie down.

I gained a total of 11kg during my pregnancy, although I had a little extra stored up before I got pregnant :) I would also recommend that you atleast try for a natural birth, I had an emergency c-sec and till this day I still feel guilty about it.

Don't let Deja fool you - she has the most angelic baby you will ever meet. Not all of them pop out that way! But the good and sweet days always make the bad and ugly worth the while.

Have you decided on a name yet?

My friends who have had babies tell me how lucky I am to be symptom free but i guess every pregnancy is different!

I am hoping to go natural and I think I will be discussing this with my dr @ the next visit. I've had my stomach cut already, had my appendix taken out when I was 13 and that was really sore so I would not want to through that abdominal pain again! I am so hoping I can do it all natural with some gas and NO EPIDURAL, I weighed about 50 KGs before I feel preggers and I've gained 6 KGs in the past 31 weeks and my dr thinks thats fine! i have less then 9 weeks to go so not sure how much i will gain and my baby will about 2.8 KGs at birth so I am really crossing my fingers that I will be able to do it! How was your LO born??

Oh i live in JHB in the Northern Suburbs and you?
