Lord Above this laptop of mine is so cr*p have been doing personals and this is the 4th time I’m trying – past 3 times the laptop just freezes! It’s supposed to be ‘new’ but is useless. Grrr. I met my boss for breakfast this am it was really nice to hear all the news and also discuss new projects I have to do a piece of work for her which is mainly a bit of research – like a couple of hours work max – how I’m supposed to do it on this laptop I don’t know  I wish we could just buy our own hardware and charge the company instead they pay double and most of the stuff doesn’t work! Ok enough moaning from me!

Schatsie yes I remember the heart scare with Arno how wonderful you got it checked again at birth and all is well! One just hears the word ‘heart’ and you freeze although these days it’s pretty common and great success rate – look at Girly’s little one 0 but still bloody stressful. LOVE your pics!!! You both look gorgeous and Arno is so handsome – omg and so big!!!! Big and thriving – my new word!! 

Meags you are sooo right, your experience has meant you can cope with M’s crying I have uber sensitive hearing I can’t even have a watch or clock in my room at night the ticking drives me bonkers LOL so in the same way it was important I got a non-cry-ey baby. Agh shame man I can imagine how you feel. Something happened with William at the start can’t ven remember what but like you whenever I thought about it I just felt awful but look, now I can’t even remember what it was!  I must say again and again you are coping so incredibly well – new country, difficulties with dh who is not the most helpful although 2am feed awesome hey but you need more – and then a very demanding baby. I bet he’s going to be a dream at about 8 weeks! What you describe now already sounds a lot better hey!!!

Misty – go for the c-section!  I think you’ve read my and Schatsie and others experiences – really good ones. When I was in for my planned c-section what a breeze – they were prepping theatre for 2 emergency c-secs – one had been in labour 12 hours the other 18 hours – the gynae said ‘she INSISTED and now look…’ mmmm, I say go with the easiest route so that you’re in best the shape possible when baby arrives! But I know you’ll make the right decision for YOU that’s just my opinion based on what worked for me.

Shame man Lucy I hope Tessa calms down on the feeding – the good thing about bf – not that you need any more encouragement!!! - is that they only drink what they need so if she’s still drinking even though it sounds excessive, at least you know it’s needed .with a bottle apparently they can overfeed but with bf it’s completely regulated to only what’s necessary I thought that was very interesting.

Anyway ladies the pc hasn’t crashed miraculously but let me post this before it does! 

Mistymom: well it seems that we are pretty much in the same boat then.

If I may comment on your situation:

1. Work out exactly date of conception.......maybe you are like me. Sonar says 41 weeks, me and hubby worked out 39 weeks from conception.

2. My one friend just delivered a baby of 4.56kg naturally.

3. Does your doc have proof that your Pelvic bone is a problem....? If so, then I suggest going with csec.

4. My best friend had her baby different. The baby descended just before birth. We are all different, we carry different and look different, so why give birth the same way???

What I have picked up is that doctors are very scared to make the wrong decisions and would rather take the safe root out. Make sure that this is the case.

All I can say is, we all have instincts, and to me it sounds like you are unsure still about the c-sec thing. . But listen to your instincts and your gut! Its your body and You know your limits and what you can do.

I also felt like you did a week ago and decided to wait it out. The baby is also happy, heartbeat fine but not descending!!! The doc told me we will have to have a c-sec if nothing happens!!! I was never the less distraught. I worked things out between me and hubby and decided to wait for nature to take its course. My baby is 3.6kg now. I feel that we are built for this.

OK for those who are waiting for my news from my gynae appointment this afternoon:

1) Baby is still very happy swimming around in plenty of fluid, has not dropped at all yet (enough fluid under his head to fill a swimming pool)

2) Baby is happy and healthy and placenta all ok still. Weight now about 3.7kg - but doc said could be up to 4kg!!

3) Doc recons that the baby has not dropped because of 2 reasons: either it is just to big or it could be because of my previous fractured pelvis.

So the outcome from the visit is as follows: Doc recons that the baby will not drop, and even if it does that it will be too big for natrual birth (always been my first choice). He also recons even if he induces (which he is not happy to do if baby has not dropped) or i do go into labour natrually that a natrual birth will probably not be an option. He said if i want i can wait to go into labour and try, or if i want i can have an elective c section (due to babys size) on Tuesday afternoon (if nothing has happened by then, which he douts).

I am a little dissapointed, but only because I wanted my baby this weekend! From the sounds of the medical reasons above I think that I will go for a c section on Tuesday afternoon (i only need to let him know my decsion by Tuesday morning so have all week end to think about it!). I just feel that if I do try to have a natrual birth it will land up in an emergency c section anyway due to baby size....so would rather not go through all that trauma (for me or baby).

In a way I am kinda releived that the reason I need a c section is medical and not me wimping out months ago deciding on an elctive one....so anyway that is the news.

Its funny that I have not really thought about a c section at all...but now i have the whole weekedn to think about it. DH said it is up to me what i want (although deep down I know that he is much happier with a c section as I will not have any pain!)

schatsie Arno is just so precious man. Are you still sitting at the crib staring at him? so nice to get your hair done. I planned to do that while my mom was here but since Matt turned out to be such a difficult baby, I didnt actually get the chance.

Rakker - wonderful birth experience!! How much does Cherise weigh? and length? come on you know we are a nosey bunch!! I agree on the no pain meds...although I have to say...I only had real bad pain for 2 hours. But shit it was bad enough to make me re-think getting pain meds next time!!!

Claire!!! How awesome your little boy decided to put you into labour and choose his own birthday! He was so ready and excited to meet mommy and daddy cant wait to hear everything and see photos

so nice to hear from you again and so glad W is still such an angel!!
People keep telling me God wont give someone something they cant handle. I have to say - in a way I think it's better I had this difficult baby than someone else. Because I am use to crying babies (from babysitting and working at the orphanage) so it doesnt bother me too much! But I know it would drive some moms insane. Actually what bothers me the most is when I rock him to sleep and he is sleeping, as soon as I move to put him down, his eyes shoot wide open!!! Even after rocking for like 30 minutes to an hour. now THAT drives me insane!!

So Matt is already better than before. Man I cant stop feeling so guilty. Thinking back to the screaming and how he'd attack the dummy when we gave it to him my poor poor baby
I am struggling to get him to finish the minimum amount of milk so have stopped putting the cereal in. Think he rather needs more milk than less milk with cereal...
he fed at 11pm, 4am and 9:30am. Have to say that at least we only have 1 feed per night to do so its not THAT bad
Hope that he is now a more settled baby. He does still have his little episodes...last night he was HYSTERICAL as the cereal made the milk a little thicker which meant his fast flow teat which he loves, was slowed down. well he threw a tantrum of note that the milk wasnt just falling into his mouth and he actually had to suck properly. I ended up having to force feed him the last bit of milk which also made him hysterical.

I tried BF for the 2 feeds last night and had not even 3 seconds of success. I was very disappointed since he had fed the previous attempt. going to contact the la leche league lady today. its my final attempt.
