What a hectic 24 hours!
To update, at 10:04 Jaiden Lee Nel was born. Why the baby never descended
Was because the baby's head was at the top and his bum at the bottom.
So they had to perform a c-sec as I was already 5cm dilated........my body wanted to it the natural way but the baby decided differently!

Morning Ladies. Hope you are all having an awesome Easter weekend. Waiting for my client to arrive so thought I would pop in quick.

MistyMom - I'm probably the wrong person to ask and I've never been overdue so I really don't know what you are going through, but if if was in your shoes, I would hold out a bit, even maybe went for a second opinion. I'm very pro-natural. But then again, I had wonderful natural births. My sister had 4 kids. First 3 natural and with the last one - doc told her baby is too big but she was adament that she would birth naturally. He let her - and then when she was in labour - baby's heart stopped - he didn't come down - and there was meconium (poo) in the water. They had to do emergency c-section and there was no time for a spinal - they had to put her out. Baby's apgar was 3/10, he didn't breath or cry when they took him out. So yes your body seldom will produce a baby too big to birth, but it does happen. He is fine now . If you really want natural, hold out a bit. Remember Anje was nearly 42 weeks when Lianey arrived. But if you are OK with going for a c-section, then do it.

Newyum - wanted to say the same than Schatsie re your due date. It's calculated from the last day of your period not from conception - so from conception - you will only count 38 weeks.

Meags - how are you? Any news on the breastfeeding. Your pics are really amazing. I've replied re Anje - but I think you've missed those post. She's doing well. Lianey is keeping them busy, but everything is well. Did you see the pic I've posted.

Schatsie - I am also using lansinoh cream. I have an infa red lamp and use that every couple of days. When they cracked after her first growth spurt I had laser, for 3 days. But generally when they start getting a bit tender I whip on the shields. They def are way tougher now, 4 weeks in. Hope that helps.

Misty, if I were you I would give myself a trail labour. You have wanted natural from the start and it may be emotions now driving you to want the c-section. I know I still regret not giving myself the trial labour with Em. Don't do something you will regret.

Schatsie both Em and Kate were emergancy c-sections and I was awake for both and they cut vertically. If the dr is giving her a trail labour she will have back-up ready. Private hospitals do it well.

Also if your dh is worried about you being in pain then take the epi, then also if you need a c-section its all set up and ready.

But its up to you, I know you are feeling left out, but your baby will be with you in a week one way or the other.

Oh and mu cousin gave natural birth to 5.5kg. My. Mom to 4.5. Your body won't produce a child "too big" for you. And most babies only enage during labour - if uou have a pocket of water under his head, baby will most likely only engage after your waters break.

Like I said its up to you, I just don't want you to make a choice you may regret.
I loved both my c-sections, so I'm not saying they are bad at all

Misty YAY for some news and a date!!! My two cents' worth: I have heard that when people have an emergency c sec they are mostly not allowed to be awake, i.e. you have to have general anaesthetic instead of a spinal. Also, because baby is normally under stress at that stage the cut is often larger and vertical instead of horizontal. So, it just seems to me that if the risk is large that if you try natural you will end up with an emergency c sec, the situation is not ideal. I would have HATED to have missed out on hearing my son's first cry!!!

Betty YAY on finally making your ML! Hopefully your baby will come soon now!

Newyummum you said you counted that it's been 39 weeks since conception but the sonar says you are on 41 weeks. All doctors count your due date from the date of your last period, not conception, so that's where the 40 weeks come from, although it is actually supposed to be 38 weeks. I.e. you are still a week over your due date. Holding thumbs for you that your labour is about to start!

Lucy what are you doing about sore nipples? I'm using Lansinoh and rubbing breast milk on them, but they are still rather red an sensitive. I've heard that it can take about 3 wks for them to get used to BF so I'm hoping it will get better, but it's manageable.

Newyum- I think sometimes your show can come quite a bit before labour. But it is great news that things are happening.

Betty - what a nice way to finish work. Enjoy oct leave and not long now.

Meags - my nipples are back to normal. I have been alternating naked nipple and shield during the feeding frenzys to protect them. So far so good. I really can recommend the laser. Physio did it for me. How are yours?
Meags you know what is best for M, we are just worried about you and hate to see you struggle. Go with your heart.
I am so glad dh is helping more.

Well T has her birth certificate. She gained loads more weight and is now 3.8kg . I am hoping I make tues and the chiro, and I seriously hope he holds the answers. Dreading sunday lunch with entire family if I can't get her off the boob! Well i'll catch up again soon.

Hi Girls,
I have news.......this morning when I went for my wee and saw a slight straw colour discharge.(Almost like at the end of your period, although there is no blood) Went through my book and it is a sign that labour is about 24-48 hours away. The book says I should wait for active labour before going to hospital.
I have no contractions yet so better wait for a more positive sign.

?????could this be the weekend where I become a mummy, will keep you posted!

So we going to a 8:00 church service to celebrate passover.........just hope I am ok
