CathM, I forgot to say, hectic about the scare re your LB's heart! When I went for my 19 week scan they told me my LB had a VSD (ventricular septum defect), i.e. a hole in his heart. I was devastated! But when he was born I immediately asked the paed to check his heart and he did then and every day he came to see us in hospital and there is absolutely no murmur or any other trace of the heart defect, so it looks like the hole closed by itself. We are SO relieved!!

Lucy - I also had a CS- no have not gone to chiro- the midwives at the BF clinic advised that the way M feeds and her behaviour are perfectly normal. I would be interested to hear what the chiro says. The sister also explained that the clinginess is normal- they cry and moan to be held- they were attached to us for 9 months and still feel attached - they need to feel close to us. They learn to detach.

Congrats Claire and Rakker!

Misty know exactly how you feel - I was the last one in the Jan/Feb thread.

Cath - what a scare - glad all is well with W

Meags don't feel bad - you are doing so well - all in M's best interest.

Schatsie- I got a uti from the catheter. I didn't want to take antibiotics and have now eventually been recommended to take cranberry capsules by the midwife. Don't know if you want to try that. Those pics of A are gorgeous, it is amazing how much he looks like you.

Rakker - congrats hun. Sounds like you'll have a lot of mama's jealous with your quick birth. Hope you have lots of special times and don't take to long posting a pic!

Meags- on the contrary that spells fab mom to me. You are doing so much and enduring so much to do the best for M . I think you are a super star.

Carmen- I am taking t to a chiro have you done this? I can't remember did you have c sec or natural? My midwife seems to think she may be comforting herself from the pain. I will try it but as you say I am going to in with it for as long as I can. I had forceps in a c sec delivery and this is common, so she says. I'll let you know.

Misty- not long hun. Must be hard. I'm sure you must almost be done with your app now. Hope you get some good news.

Good morning everyone

Misty, I really have sympathy with you feeling left out with all ofus discussing feeding, etc.. But you will be joining our ranks really soon! It really can't be longer than a week from tomorrow now. Min dae girl, hang in there! Let's hope we hear some news of a final date at your appt tomorrow.

Claire and Rakker congrats on your babies!! PICS PLEASE! :)

Meags I agree with Cath, if A had to cry like W I would go insane too! He's never cried for more than about a minute when he is hungry and I can't get him BF fast enough for his liking. So you really are a super mom to deal with everything you are going through. What an idiot paed to tell you to decrease the feeds and not tell you for how long!! I would have given him a huge piece of my mind!!

Cath I'm glad you're still having such a great time with W. Motherhood is really wonderful hey? I'm absolutely loving it too!

BettyF damn, I was hoping your baby was going to come soon, but it seems not. :(

AFM I think I'm starting to settle into a bit of a night routine: I feed as close as possible to 12h00 before going to bed. Then I do a feed about every 2.5 hours after that, so all in all I have to get up for feeds about 3 times in a night, which is quite manageable. I feel quite good today - not so sleep deprived as yesterday. :)

Hope you're all having a good day!

Hi ladies! Sorry I’ve been mia I just don’t know where the time goes although I’ve been able to follow you all to some extent, just no time to post!

Oh my goodness gracious Meags this is a very rough time for you sherbet you are doing great just hanging in there. stupid guy who told you to cut back on the milk how were you supposed to know it was only for first bit. I wish I’d mentioned at the time that I recall my paed saying feed him/her as much as they want. Agh man sorry! And then relationship with dh  And seriously if you were a bad mother you’d not be bothered about any of this, meanwhile you’re devoting your whole life to getting matthieu right so if anything you are a great mother! Imagine him with a less committed mom!!

Everyone else hi!!!! Rakker and Claire congratulations!!!!!!!!

William remains the ultimate champ! Lord we had scare on Monday – the paed at his 8 wk appt said she heard a murmur packed us off for xrays and the doc looked at xrays (not a specialist!!) and said blah blah was wrong and paed said we should go to cardiologist as duct had not closed in heart HELLO! This was Monday. Thank GOD we got appt for wed and the cardiologist – AMAZZING man dr dansk – spent about 45 mins with W gave him every test under the sun and …. false alarm! Cardiologist spent almost 45 mins with W did echo, ecg etc etc etc and said he has absolutely perfect strong little heart no murmur, is thriving and said the words thriving and perfect many times!! Jussis we got big fright but I’m grateful W got such a thorough checking! He has almost doubled in weight since birth (thanks NAN HA! :) and cardiologist just was soo impressed with how good he was, how calm, no crying he still hardly cries except with hungry then OMG we hear about it but it stops when he gets his bottle (Meags you are a CHAMP if W cried for more than the usual few seconds I would seriously lose my mind it is SO DISTURBING you are very very brave!!!) he is now almost 5 kilos has grown I think 10 cm and head has grown 8.5 cm and is just gorgeous we are absolutely LOVING him. Typically he is up at 12am and 3am and 6am hoping one day for him to drop the 12am feed that would be awesome! But is soo good, I feed him pat him (Joli what you described for Lucy is exactly what I do) and W is back to sleep or at least quiet within about a minute. The whole feeding thing takes about 40 mins still.

The cardiologist was a REAL eye opener I felt so grateful lthat we had a healthy little boy there were other parents there crying and traumatized in the other waiting rooms. Life can be tough.
