Anje, lovely names!

Meags, I'm glad you didn't fall on your tummy, its one of my biggest fears.
Regarding the walk, maybe say your feet are very sore and offer to look after the little one while they go next time. not cool to not cover your child in that weather!

We have also chosen Godparents, my best male friend will be Godfather, and my oldest female friend will be Godmother.

Was chatting with our photographer yesterday about our maternity shoot, the two of us will get to gether in the New Year and discuss ideas and then go shopping for props :) and the best thing about having her as my photographer is I can literally do a 4 day old New Born shoot. Basically need to call her say I've given birth and she'll come round.

I was also looking at the calander yesterday and I have serious doubts that I'm going to make it to April, So I've decided to have my birthday party the last week of march incase I pop before my birthday. I honestly would prefer an 36/37 week delivery if I want to have natural, my dr wont let me have a vbac if baby is over 4kg.

Today DH has taken Em, well not taken her anywhere, but has been entertaining her the entire day so I could sleep in and keep my feet up. The swelling was serious and painful yesterday! Going to have my blood pressure tested tomorrow.

Oh and good friends of our arrive tomorrow from JHB, they are moving here and I'm so excited. She is a Dr and working as a Pead surgeon, so wonderful having her on hand for advice.

Hi mommies

Anje love your little girl's name :)

Everyone else must be enjoying their holidays since it's so quiet here :)
I fell yesterday :S I wanted to lean on a chair to reach over to close the window. When I put my shin onto the chair, the chair broke (well it's always been broken but I forgot) and my knee fell through the seat part and I was stuck!! My leg was still stuck on the chair and I was hanging onto the window handle as I was about to land on my tummy! luckily I didnt - but man my leg (shin) is really bruised and sore now.

Have you ladies thought about godparents for your baby?? My brother is going to be the Godfather and one of DH's sisters will be the godmother. I want his older sister to be it as she so badly would love another baby and his younger sister recently had a baby. So I feel it would fill a void for her (her DH refuses to have another child) and she is always looking at my tummy, asking if she can touch it, asking so many questions, taking photos. So I really hope DH will just choose her. His uncle is going to baptise Matthieu in June when we visit France as he marry's, baptises and buries everyone in the family. He has suggested we put Matthieu's whole body into the water for the baptism as it's apparently very symbolic!! Can just imagine him wee'ing everywhere!!

otherwise not much else happening. last night it was bloody cold - around 0 degrees and at 6pm everyone thought it would be a good idea to go for a walk around the harbour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I'm cold, all I want to do is cuddle up under a blanket - but anyway - off w e went...and it was so unpleasant! his sister didnt even put a blanket over her baby's legs in the pram?! poor little nu nu

Hi girls, hope you girls had a fabulous Christmas surrounded with family or friends !!

I am connected through my hubby's celphone, internet extremely slow, so I am not going to catch up, just quickly want to let you know that we have decided on a name:

Lianey (first name) and Mari (second name)

First name is a combination of my mom's and FIL's names (both past away) as well as both our names. The second name is a shortened version of MIL's name.

Enjoy your day, will catch up when I am back home on Wednesday.

Oh shame man Meags, that doesnt sound much fun. Perhaps when you get back on JHB, have a Christmas day with your friends.

Today seems like nesting has kicked in a bit. I'm spring cleaning the house... nevermind the heat and my elephant feet...

Emsmom it sounds like you had such a wonderful Christmas!!!

I'll share my experience!

24th - We started apperitifs at 6:30pm and then had done that, starters and main course by 8pm. Then DH went to church with his sister. I stayed at home and watched Desperate Housewives on the laptop and his mom and BIL had a sleep!!!! They came home at 10:30pm and BIL still sleeping so we sat chatting. He wakes at 11:30pm so we open our presents and then go to bed around 1:00am.

25th - We have a lunch with his one sister, BIL, neice, MIL and FIL. although his sister arrives an hour late! No one spoke to me for 4 hours at all as they were all chatting with each other. Ended up getting a headache from boredom. Came upstairs around 4:30pm and watched a movie on the laptop. Ate dinner then watched another movie on the laptop.

And that was it!!! I'm quite sad as I would have rather been with my family and been involved and enjoyed myself :(

today his uncle and other sister (with her family) are coming for lunch so I guess I'm in for another long afternoon of not being spoken to!

25 days until I leave for America and I'm starting to get scared/anxious/sad to leave my friends and family :(

Merry Christmas to all you beautiful ladies!
I really hope you all had a wonderful and peace filled day yesterday!

We did our Christmas eve dinner at the in-laws, where I did actually end up making starters ;) Made mozzerella stars with cherry tomatos and a homemade basil and basamic sauce. Was so yummy, had to stop myself eating all the sauce before the party. But dinner was very nice, and Em actually ventured into trying some new foods (amaizing what the thought of Santa does...) Then we had to leave cookies and milk out, and carrots as well. And DH and I played Santa, DH insisted on actually drinking the milk, saying it was the right thing to do. Was so sweet.

In the morning I woke up way before Em (I never can sleep the night before Christmas) and made the mango pudding and got ready before her or DH woke up. Then we did the pressie thing - at the last min I decided to get DH a remote controll helicopter, so he really enjoyed that. Em of course loved all her gifts.

Then we treked off to my folks for Christmas lunch, and did more pressies! My folks got my a Kindel! I'm so excited, I really wanted one before baby arrived to make those night time feeds a little easier! My sister sent some stunning "granny" panties for me from the boutique she works in. I hate wearing full panties, only ever wear g-string, but at least now the panties I wear after birth will be sexy ;)

Then the whole family arrived and we all swam, and ate and swopped gifts and did secret santa, was a lot of fun. Sadly my feet were not enjoying the standing and the heat, but anyways.

Eventually got home and suddenly I couldn't sleep, So just stayed up watching the last few Christmas movies till next year.

This morning have spent most of it playing with Em and her new toys and trying to get the house looking less scary.. Have let DH sleep in a bit. Going to my folks later to meet up with old family friends down from JHB, and will certainly do some more swimming :)

Anyways, hope you all had a totally fab day and that we get to see some photos from you all.
