welcome Karen, Hope your stay here is peaceful and wonderful!

Well my folks just offered to buy us the washing machine, so thats wonderful. I will miss my laundry service, as I sent in dirty clothing and it came back washed, dried and ironed. But I cant justify the costs anymore.
We will also get a biowash ball for it :)

Joli My mom will also buy the cloth nappies, so I'm not spending a huge amount on them, I'll buyt maybe 5 and then get dispoable for when we go out and stuff, and my mom will buy the rest. And anyways will cost us less than dispoables.

Joli are you in JHB?

haylee I really do hope on Wed when you test you'll be joining us!!

meags its a tough one, we are also having to think about that because our Aus papers are now happening and we might be there with a newborn. But my sister is already there and I know both mothers will come with for the first while, and my dad.

The US will have wonderful birthing homes I am sure. Also you can join maternity groups and make friends as well.

Lucy, sorry about the MS, but take it as a good sign that your hormones are nice and strong :)

EmsMom - well done on the cloth nappies :-). I did think about it, but seeing that this is my last baby, I won't be spending so much money on nappies I won't use again. I'm also looking for a photographer to do my shoots. I've mailed Natasha Whiteley but she is not replying, so will see who else I can use. Maybe will just get someone to do it with my cam seeing that I'm on a savings mission.

Lucy - Argh I don't know whether they are jealous etc., but I told hubby I won't be doing anymore shoots for them. I mean a newborn shoot can take up to 4 hours, that's not even the editing etc. and the cleaning up. Still doing photography weekends and after hours only. Got a PA job Monday to Friday 7 - 4 so it's a bit hectic right now, but I would like to stay so I can claim UIF and then hopefully go into photography full time once baby is here. I don't have cramps or anything, but when I sit and get up, it's sore very low in my abdomen. Nauseous feeling is back today. Also thought I'm going to vomit earlier on.

Hayley - really hope that you will join us. When are you testing??

Meags - you don't want to be alone the last months. I would rather go with hubby, seeing that your mom will come over anyways, so you won't be alone in America. Then you can settle down before baby arrives.

Welcome Karen :) !

hehe Hi Hayley!! Hope you'll be joining us soon :)

I wanted to ask you guys something....so I went to Genesis open day over the weekend and it is just so divine. And after a lot of thinking, I really dont want to give birth in America with no friends or family around.
DH has said I can stay here and give birth here and if he is needed in America, he will go and then come back for the birth.

My problems with this:
You cannot predict when I will go into labour so how will he know when to come back???
I don't really want to be alone possibly for the last 2 months of my pregnancy?!
Even if I give birth here, I will be going to America about 2-3 weeks after the baby's birth, so will still not know anyone then!
My mom will most likely come to America a few weeks before I'm due so she wont miss the birth and then stay after too.
My dad is planning on coming to see the baby in America once my mom has left.

So, what are your opinions on this? I am sure America has birthing units like Genesis too

And then these muslim people rocked up at our house for some water?! really weird...but it's disturbing and I dont sleep!!! aarrgg

So many sad stories! Kimika, huge huge hug, my friend. An answer will come your way. Don't regret your pregnancy, this baba will be a bright spot for you and get you through some tough times ahead, you'll see. But I know it is hard. We are here for you!

Joli - Wow. Such nastiness, do you think they are jealous? Can't think of any other explanation. Are you a full time photographer?

I can not imagine my parents not shrieking for joy when I tell them about our bush baby. With my last pregnancy they were stoked. I even saw my mother had started knitting jersey's etc (she doesn't know I saw as she hid them when I lost the baba)

EmsMom - I could never cope without a washing machine, I have had mine since my first pay check (14 years ago) and wish it would break down so I can get a whirlpool. NOt that I have spare cash for that stuff. Just a secret wish!! Love the smell of sta soft!

Fawhaway - The picnic sounds like a good idea!

Tazzy - I am in PMB this am so sending you good vibes for your scan. Mine is next monday!

Hello to all the ladies I haven't mentioned.

AFM - Well today is the day the poopie really hit the fan with my last preggy and all is still good! I am getting MS worse and worse. Can not find anything to relieve it. Have it from waking until 7pm. Yesterday I was super super close to actually vomitting! Just really hoping it is a sign that all is good! Does anyone still get tummy pains, those pully tuggy things? I hardly never do any more!
