Also pack more than 1 facecloth. One for your face and 1 or 2 for other use.

Another tip: right after the c-section you dont wear any underwear till the next day so normal always pads dont realy work. the dr whites work really well as they dont have a sticky side and you can tie them onto each other.

You can buy linen savers at Clicks. They are 2 prevent you messing on the bed. Basically a piece of tissue paper with a waterproof sheet on the other side. Some hospitals charge you for them so I would take some with. Will work out cheaper.

The maternity panties are great. I used them at home as well. They come in different sizes and are stretchy. I used alot of them.

Definitely a gown!

I agree. The disposable panites are the best. So nice to just throw them out when you are done. The cariwell are lovely. Not the same as those hospital ones. These are fitting. Like gauze.

The disposable panties at dis chem come in different sizes. Mine were very comfortable, or you could just get granny panties at ackermans or pep.

Linen savers are sheets that get put on the bed so if you have a leak its on the linen saver and not the bed. I also got mine at dischem. Those that were left I use to change baby on.

Nipple Cream and like Morgan said, Disposable panties, as all else will be uncomfortable with the wound and all.

@ Julz, thanks have those on the list already but will take your advice about slip slops instead! My feet also get very swollen.

Also arent disposal undies really loose and uncomfortable? is it the same kind you get at the hospital? I used them from the hospital when I had previous miscarriages and they were soo huge that a sanitary pad could not be used at all!

Tiv, dont bother with the book Honey, not going to have time to read it You really need to sleep when baby is sleeping, very tempting not to, but when the second/third day comes and your milk comes in, you are going to be in such a tiz, cause baby is going to want to feed every hour for at least 15 min at a time.

As for what to pack, depends on which hospital you are giving birth at.

Julz is right, pack cool PJ's dont know why they heat the maternity wards like that, feels like you are slowly being roasted!

If you are giving birth at Medi Clinic, remember to get headphones for the TV

A spare set of PJ's in case you have a leak.
