Hi ladies,

Champers glad that your LB is going great..Goodluck with the painting..

GML, been a first time mom I understand your concerns, well in my case I have personal preference on baby products.. I love Elizabeth Annes products, I use the lotion to wash baby's body and hair, with my daughter unfortunately I have had to move her onto plain aqueous as a body wash as she has aczema so cannot really use much on her...With regards to the washing powder, there is a sunlight powder for baby (blue box) and also a sunlight softnert which I use, I use the Sta soft baby when I am not able to find the sunlight baby softner both nice...I use other products later as one gets so many different sorts at babyshowers ...Those are my personal favourites...I am a faithful pampers user could not be happier.. Avent bottles worked for me as well as Nuk which I used for my son...

In any case have a great weekend further..

hallo!

GML @ this is MY opinion and i'm sure everyone has a different one... The dr told me "creamy" baby products (like Elizabeth Anne's Shampoo) cause cradle cap so i use J&J the yellow shampoo... and plain white baby soap. Later i used the "bedtime" range cause i love the lavender smell. I think (my opinion) that too strong smelling stuff is too much for tiny babies so i stuck to plain as far as possible.

I like Pampers Nappies cause every time I tried Huggies, they leaked so i will be buying Pampers again.

I used the gentle cycle on my machine with the special baby washing powder you get and no sta soft (Again because of the smell)

Bottles.. i like Avent bottles because if you buy all their stuff (breast pump, etc) everything fits on everything. Most babies however do prefer Nuk dummies. (we are a group of 10 mommies and not one of our kids liked the Avent dummies) BUT... if you buy NUK teats you can put them on cheaper bottles, you dont have buy NUK bottles... so it works out much cheaper. :)

Hope that helps... if there was one book that i would recommend to all moms its Baby Sense, maybe read it. There is so much valuable info in there about sleeping, routines, feeding, etc.

Champers :) Glad your scan went well. Have you sorted things out with hubby? are you feeling better? Enjoy the painting!

wooooooohoooooooo its WEEKEND!! :woohoo: Hope everyone has a FAB weekned!

Blessed with a beautiful daughter and an awesome baby boy!

Hi ladies

Champers- good to hear all is well. I hope you're not the one doing the painting.

Ladies I just realised how complicated having a baby is.

I like knowing everything beforehand.

Which baby products will you ladies be using on your baby. Example: What bath products will you use? There are so many to choose from. Which bottles? Do you hand wash baby clothes or do you use the hand wash application on your washing machine? Do you use the normal fabric softener for baby's clothes or do you not use it at all?

I know it may be early to be asking these questions but I just realised that the weeks go by so fast and we'll be in the 3rd trimester soon. I want to be prepared

Hi ladies,
Scan went well. Organs are all as they should be. No hairlip/cleft palate. 10 fingers. 10 toes. Definite boy.

Just got back from buying the blue paint. Next week I start painting, yay!

Champers, sorry your husband is being so insensitive- I don't blame you for getting annoyed.

Tanya, thanks for the reassurance about Parklane. I booked a semi-private room there, costs a bit extra but not sure that I want to share a room with lots of other women so I will fork up. GML, thanks for the info. Parklane charges R1200 for one morning of antenatal classes (I have no clue what the norm is?)

Miksmommy, you can add me to that list, also 31 July.

Maryke, your theme sounds adorable. I can't wait to do ours once we know if its a boy or girl. Miksmommy, maybe you can do a whole aeroplane theme around the sticker. :) Mobiles with colourful paper planes etc.

Hi fairy's

I would love a private ward but there is only two in our maternaty ward and it's first come first service and if you pay upfront and you don't get a room it's non refundable and it's a R1000-00 a day

Miks I am doing scruffy elephants as the theme I saw them where I am ordering my bedding it's the same as the scruffy bears but just elephants it is so cute my colours will be chocolate brown camel brown and lime green, with matching elephant night stands a tissue box a clothes hamper I done the same for my little girl but hers where pink with bees looks so cute
