file Anyone else trying for a 2014 baby?

Thanks for all the warm welcome ladies! It feels good to feel like myself again and feeling a lot more empowered this time round!

Carmen: Great to hear from you! I totally hear you on how difficult it is to truly let it go and make peace with what may be or what may not be. Thinking of you!

Juno - Sorry to hear about the low AHM count. I can only imagine how demotivating this must be. Thinking of you! Big hugs to you.

Strikkie: You are more than welcome to barge in. I am so sorry to hear about the difficult news you received as well. My thoughts are with you too.

Nicolette: I agree with you that how one thinks that you ovulate a certain day and it turns out to be wrong and in essence you wasted a month perhaps if you only BD around a certain time. It was an eyeopener to me as well that my ovulation date varied. Congrats on the big egg!! Woo-hoo! Please keep us updated if you are going for another round! I agree on the summer baby...My LG was a winter baby and I cursed right through the winter! But yes, I agree, we can't be too picky about that right?

Hi ladies. It doesn't sound like anyone is having a good time at the moment. Gain-a-baby - I agree with the others - go and see the fertility specialist. As was said, it can take a while before you get an appointment, and you can always cancel if you do fall pregnant before then. I took my gynae's advice and waited a year - now I wish I had gone sooner. The problem is that we all assume our cycles are the same each month - and what I've come to realise is that mine are actually different each time. The first time my LH surge happened on day 13 the next time on day 12. Now I am on day 15 it hasn't happened. Your LH surge indicates when you ovulate - and before this I just assumed I ovulated on day 14 and calculated everything around that. First time I made two small eggs, second time two big eggs this time, one big egg one tiny egg. They will help you pick up little problems which could save you months of trying and being disappointed.
So - since I've only made one big egg (a huge one actually - 33mm!!) which has basically "starved" the other egg, they won't inseminate this month. They don't feel it will increase our chances enough to warrant the expenditure. I'm quite relieved because we are only trying three times, so by skipping this month, we get another go!!
Next month I go on double the dose of clomid (eeeeck) but I have a sneaking suspicion that my hubby will be away when he needs to be here - so we might need to skip august and go over to September. I was so hoping for a summer baby - but I'm getting less and less fussy as time goes by!!
I'm assuming the AMH test is the egg reserve test. Mine is just on the low side - just below 1.1. But I am 38 and as you get older this number tends to decrease.
Sending good vibes, strength and love out to you all.

Hi all

Welcome back GW :)

Sorry about the neg Bell@

Gain-a-baby - make the appointment, it is only a recommendation not a rule that you try for a yer before 35 and 6 months after 35.

Juno - so much to deal with! Sorry. I think I did a reserve test in 2009, haven't done one this time round.
As you're aware I'm about a year older than you. I have decided to try one round of IVF to be certain I've tried everything. I cannot give up yet, I don't want to look back in a few years and think to myself "what if". The road is tough.
On the other hand I have also come to the point that I accept what the universe and the Greater Power has to give me. If I am not to have another successful pregnancy I accept it. I drove to work this morning and with the mantra ran through my gead "Universe I accept what you have to offer me with open arms".
About 2 weeks ago I saw a beautiful image of a little girl with the words "ASK BELIEVE RECEIVE" - It's all got to do with the laws of attraction. But boy is it difficult. I'm struggling with the BELIEVE part. I have sucha fear of disappointment and need to protect my emotional well being.

All I can say is one step at a time - and I hope and pray that we will all be blessed with a bundle of joy.

Gain-a-baby after what I was told today as well as some research I have done on the subject I would strongly suggest that you go to a FS.

I have been trying for a year and have had two pregnancies – both of which I fell pregnant the month after I started trying. My last MC was in Feb and I have been struggling ever since. Because I am 41 (just) I decided to chat to my gynae about it and he said I should get to a FS. I did and the first step was to take an AMH test which basically measures your ovarian reserve - nothing to do with fertility. I got my results this morning and am devastated to learn that it is 0.28 which is very low – 1 and above is a healthy reserve. I was told this is due to my age however this does not need to be the case. In the reading I have done this can happen in the early 30s even.

So more decisions – do I just give this whole journey up or do I get more aggressive? I know my OH is not going to keen as our relationship has really suffered during this time. However I am very loath to just give up and feel I have to take this a step further.

Not good news to break to a pre-menstrual female desperately trying to fall pregnant at work…thank goodness I have the privacy of an office!

Anybody else know what their AMH levels are as I also didn't realise this was a test that existed.

Gain-a-baby: I think you should make an appointment now. It is not unheard of to wait between 3 -6 months before you can get your first appointment. If you fall pregnant before your appointment, you can just cancel it.

Hello from a chilly, rainy Cape Town

I heard a true story this past weekend about lady who is 6 months pregnant now, she had a "mucus membrane" for lack of a better term around her ovaries and had this removed via laparoscopy, she fell pregnant like 3 months after.

We've been "trying" since October last year, I had my check up earlier this month and I'm beginning to think it's time to visit a FS - what do you ladies think? Should I just wait it out and go back to my gyane in about 3 months?
