Hi Annie,

How are things at your side? Are you on new meds again?

I have been a little down the last couple of days. I got a positive “O” on cd 17 and start spotting on cd22. That continued until AF started on cd25. I have hoped so badly for a miracle this month so that we don’t have to go through any more. I have been crying the last couple of days because a friend of mine found out she is pregnant the same day AF started at my side.

I totally agree with you about the timing. That been said, it makes me very nervous. I just found out that the IVF was approved. We will found out more with my follow up in June. I think IVF will be early in July. But I am so worried that my one follicle is not going to work. I know I need to calm myself now and be positive but with so many IVF - BFN around on other chats, it’s hard to stay positive.

What is your next step, what are you guys doing?

Hi Chrizzie

Just ask your Gynae to refer you there.

There are a few Professors there. Dr Dyer, Dr Matebse, Dr Matjila and another doctor, can't remember her name. Linda something.

It is a teaching hospital, so you will also have students treating you, but the professor and doctors obviously oversee everything and discuss all treatment plans.

So far, I have been happy there, just had my second IUI, so now on the 2ww... sorry about all your failed attempts :(

Definitely ask your Gyne to refer you asap. Maybe even call your Gynae and ask them to fax or email a letter, that's what mine did.

Hi Annie and Chrizzie

@ Annie, oh my yes parking is crazy there. :S It took my an half an hour just to get a freaking spot.
No hubby did not go along. We have been to to many doctors for him to take off work. But since we know much of the story it did not matter.

Yes straight to IVF, but we are still waiting for approval. I don’t know long that take. My next cycle starts end of the month but she said it will not be before then. I have a follow up middle June. Think by then we should know. The waiting is sooooo stressing my out.  Once approved then we need to decide if we want a standard ivf or a soft ivf. I don’t know which one to choose. But for now we are just hoping to get approved.

I am so happy things went better this time. Oh my now the longgggggggggggggg 2WW. I really hope this time it’s BFP. I am holding all my fingers cross for you guys.

@ Chrizzie, my fs gave me a referral letter and with that I got an appointment at GSH. I only know Dr Patel. But yes it’s very expensive privately.

Hi Everyone,

I "see" a few familiar "faces" here :)

Would just like to know how do you get an appointment at GSH? I already had 3 IUI's and 2 IVF's privately and it is just too expensive!
Can you maybe give me a few of the doctors' names that are there?

Thank you!

Hi Hope
Ag I should have told you about the parking situation, we also drove around the first time looking for the place and then parking!

So pleased to hear you are going straight for IVF!! Do you know how long it will take to get approved after handing in your documents?
Very exciting! You will see things will happen quickly from here.

I went for my IUI this morning, went well, so much better than the last time, was done by the professor, so it was quick and painless, last time a student did it and she 'krapped' in there so much it was so uncomfortable and painful compared to today!!

So now the lonnnng 2ww.

Very excited for you! Did hubby go with? Did you feel comfortable there?
