heart Trying for a 2016 baby

10 years 9 months ago #270005 by AnzelMama12
Hi girls

@Nikita, it is so nice to hear from you, honey. I am also only going back to work on Monday. Had a long and restful holiday. Holding thumbs that this is your month. Baby making is indeed difficult - Some of us are still at it. Be strong. You will be ok.

@EmJ16 - it has cooled down here to about 35 degrees. Slept with the cooler off for the first time this month. Still no rain for us, though. It is very dry. The SMEP plan is good. It gives skme structure, but also ensures that you cover all the bases. Which is important during TTC. Good luck to you! Holding thumbs for your BFP this month. Looks like you and Nikita are two days apart in your cycle.

Hi Ladies,

@Anzel - it is so good to hear from you :cheer:

@Chanti - I am doing good, still on holiday and will be going back to work on Monday :)
How are you?

@ Jooste - how are you?

AFM - I am on CD17 and 3 DPO acording to FF. My BBT is a bit rocky this cycle as I didn't wake up at the same time each morning. If no BFP this cycle then I will contact my gynea to prescribe clomoid or something, can't remember what she said, and if that doesn't work we will probably be doing our first IUI in a few months. Baby making is difficult
My friend keeps on telling me how difficult it is and that once you've had a baby you have no time....... I get so pissed  :swear: (sorry) when she says that, I mean I know that your time is limited and that everything changes, I know that, I really just want be a mommy. Some days it feels as if it is never going to happen, but yet again I blame PMS..... I am so scared that my endo comes back with vengeance, really I am :( I will however stay positive and happy

Morning ladies!

Lush - how did your blood test go? Unless I read wrong and its only this coming week!

Anzel - Jeez that's hot! We've also had unbearable heat but yesterday it actually cooled down and rained a tiny bit and this morning it's still nice and cool, so happy because we've been spending so much extra money on electricity to keep the aircon running.

The 2 months that I used OPK's my + was once on cd14 and once on cd15, couple of posts I've seen online there were some women who got theirs quite a bit later in their cycle - so holding thumbs you get the + within the next couple of days! The BD plan you are doing sounds good - I think if we go into another month of trying I might give that a go! We are still a bit unstructured for lack of a better word lol - so then next month I'll do the opk's again + a proper BD plan.

AFM, I'm on CD19 - so in the TWW. Our BD was better planned than the previous 2 months - so we'll see if something happened! The previous 2 months cost a fortune because I had the constant urge to POAS, this month I'm not even buying one until the day AF is due or if I can help myself until I am late.

I had a evil 2nd month of trying though - I got a evap line on a test that looked like a feint positive - but didn't take it to heart, thankfully, and then AF who is usually on time, was 2 days late - but she then eventually showed her ugly little face :silly:

What's everyone else up to?

Hi, girls

Wow, it's been quiet on this forum the last two days. How are you all doing??

Where are you in your cycle? Who is about to test? Who is with me in their ovulation window?? Halooooo???

AFM, CD 12 today, and still not +OPK. Feeling crampy and tired, nipples are itchy (not sure what that means) and I have increased CM. Hopefully I'll get a +OPK soon. We've been BD'ing every second day since CD 6. I will continue with this until about CD 20, just to make sure.

Hope you are all doing ok!

Hi girls

It is very very very hot in Upington today. Peaking at 45degrees according to weather buro, but it sometimes climbs to almost 50degrees! Goodness! I'm staying inside today, with the water cooler on, praying that I don't get sick! LOL!

@Jooste - Thanks for the advise on the supplements for hubby. He is currently on Sperm-i-prove twice a day (when he remembers), since July 2015. He is not one for taking meds or supps, so I don't know if he'll fall for other vitamins as well. I'll have a chat with him. Mommywannab also suggested he use Proxeed plus, but it's very very expensive! :tmi: :tmi: I am already on Inofolic and Fertivor, with Fertomid, which together, also cost a pretty penny. Eish... Looks like it's expensive to conceive. If only it happend so easliy with us as with our friends! Then there would be no need for supplementation or medication! Sigh...

This journey is very hard. I think we all can relate to friends being pregnant with their first, second or third child, being invited to stork teas, not wanting to go because you'll feel bad about yourself... It's terrible feeling as if you are broken, not working the way you were made. But I know God has a plan. My mom used to tell me, everytime I complain about a friend being pregnant or being invited to a stork tea, to bless them, to be happy for them. Coz one day, it will be your turn, then they will do the same for you, remembering what you did for them while you were struggling. It is hard to get used to that advice. Now, I try to bless them, give them gifts for the baby, ask about their pregnancy and how its going. I even visit moma in hospital the day after baby was born. Is it hard? Hell yes! Do I cry and feel depressed for weeks after that? Absolutely! But I also feel proud of myself that I could bless them and care for them, the way I would want others to do for me one day. It keeps me positive and hopeful.

Today, I am on CD 11. I took another OPK this morning with SMU. It was negative, the same as last night's OPK. I'm holding thumbs for my positive OPK soon. This BD'ing every other night is tiresome. lol! I am having what I think is ovulation cramps this morning, but I can't be sure. I had those cramps last month, and never got a positive OPK. I even had EWCM in abundance last month, just like now, and didn't ovulate. So let's just say I am carefully optimistic. Hoping to get a positive OPK by CD 14... It also feels like I'm coming down with a cold or something. Or it just might be sinus. All of this while I'm writing my third textbook and preparing for work next week. Goodness, I need a holiday. lol.

Hope you are all going to have a great day! Lots of love. xx

My DH had a chat with our FS after his SA (which was indeed very good! - he was so proud of himself!) - and he gave a long list of suggestions to improve morphology, motility and vitality. I will go and have a look and see if I can find that sheet of paper. One thing that I can remember, was that DH was placed on a high quality Omega 3 supplement and 1000mg of Vit C daily for 3 months prior to our IVF.
He also took 4 Staminogros at night before bedtime and a Sperm I Prove every morning.

AnzelMama / Chanti
I know!!! :(
Most of my friends started trying when we reached the age of 32yrs. (DH and I waited a bit, as I was busy completing my PhD at that stage). And they ALL fell pregnant within a couple of months. THen - when we started trying in 2009......they were already trying for nr 2! And most was pg with nr3 when we eventually went for IVF in 2012. I stopped going to stork teas. I use to send a gift and would came up with an excuse as to why I could not go. I just could not handle it any more. I avoided 1st birthday parties as well and later on avoided meeting up with some of my pg friends as I really would cry at the littlest of things. Because...as Chanti said....just as I was invited for a coffee date with a friend - AF would rock up at my front door! During our first IUI, one of my friends phoned me accouning her BFP. I was SO excited for her (believing in my heart that it was a sign - that I will get my BFP in a day or two and we would share our pg'cies.) ARGGG! AF arrived about 30 minutes after my conversation with her. It was so horrible. I rememberd crying for most of that weekend. Poor DH! He did not know what to do with me.

It is flippen hard. And no one knows just how hard - unless you have been through it yourself.

Oh my goodness!!!! I'll be super mad if that happened to my hubby! It is already so difficult for him, why do that to him?? Insane!! When my hubby got the request to do the SA, he got a two-page document with instructions. We knew exactly what is going to happen and what he needs to do. I think we paid R750 for his SA.

When they do an SA, they look at a few things: The count, the volume, the viscosity, the morphology and motility. This is what it should be (I hope you understand/can speak/read Afrikaans! LOL). Morphology is the shape.

And this was my hubby's results in January 2015:

I hope it's clear enough that you can make out what it says.
