@Jooste - thank you for your positivety!! I really do hope that its smooth sailing from here. How long are u going to try naturally for? All it needs is one little spermy and it sounds like u did a fairly good job of covering your bases! I have the feeling ur BFP is very close :)

@Nikita - how are things on ur side?

I'm believing that 2016 will be a better / wonderful! year for us all. I cannot wait to hear what your FS plans for you TTC journey!! You are young, chances are that you will stimm wonderfully on meds and your eggies will be of good quality. So, once they are back inside your uterus - I believe that you will carry full term!

It is honestly so hard to be doing so much and planning so hard and still not fall pregnant. Reading what you have been up to (with regards to studies and writing of books), I can identify with you. (being a planner and having experienced that when one works hard, you can achieve almost anything.......except falling pregnant). For that - all the planning in the world can be done, but there is still some higher power and a good dose of luck needed to get a sticky bean.

I'm on CD19 and wondering if we managed to concieve this cycle. I did get a +OPK and we did BD around the time - so I know that we have covered all our bases. The 2WW is not for me.... :S

@Al - so great to hear from u hun. U are right, when u want something so badly u just keep holding faith! I love ur idea of finding a children's home, what a great way of sharing all the extra love in ur heart. Just make sure its something that will make u stronger and not have the opposite effect. I love your signature, for some reason I have been saying it to myself everyday lately.

@Anzel - I am so happy to hear from u!!! Still waiting to hear from Liza too. Im sorry u weren't able to so IUI, I know its a decision u were struggling with. Congrats on ur accomplishments!!! That is so amazing that u did so well!!! I hope u are enjoying a break now over December atleast? Afm, I am now onto the ivf journey, had a lap last month where I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis, adenomyosis and blocked tubes. Its been seriously rough since finding out but we are stronger now and ready to fight. I have an appointment with a fertility specialist at the end of Jan to get a quote for our ivf cycle and see what plan they will use on us.

Morning girls

Gosh, a lot has been happening on this forum over the last few months in my absence. You'll all need to please give me a brief update as to what's happening in your TTC Journey, so I can also catch up... :P

I've had a very busy few months. Since October, I finished writing two textbooks, finished my qualification (I passed Cum Laude with 9/10 distinctions), completed market and classes for my students at the college and lost a ton of weight. I am at 22kgs and 45cm this year. I am still not pregnant. :( Yet, I have hope and motivation for the new year.

At this stage, I am not too sure what is going on. I was supposed to do my first round of IUI in December, which didn't take place. I wasn't ovulating, so they couldn't go ahead with the procedure. My cycles also dramatically shortened. From an average of 28 days, to a cycle of 25 days in November and 26 days in December. My periods are still very short and light (roughly 2 days). I am currently on CD 2 of my new cycle and I am using Glucophage 500mg (once a day), Inofolic and Fertivor (For my uterine lining - Hoping it will normalise my periods and flow). I will be using Femzole to help me ovulate, as from CD 3 (Tomorrow). I am also using OPK's. Used OPK's for the first time last month, had no smiley face over a period of 7 days. :( Hubby is also still using Sperm-i-prove to increase his count. So we are holding thumbs and praying for our 2016 miracle.

If nothing happens naturally by mid year 2016, we'll consider going for IVF.

Hi girls,

Sending you all lots of love and best wishes and Blessings for this Christmas season.

My heart breaks every time I read someone's experience [Jooste, I'm sending you a big hug] and at the same time I find a lot of inspiration in the courage in all of you on this forum. I am sure that many mommies on the other forums started out here, so we'll just have to keep trusting in God.

My AF did not show up last week, and test still came back negative. Had blood test done, and then flow started - REAL HEAVY. I kept on hoping anyways, not because I'm naive or or ignorant, no. It's because of my body's changes over the last 2 months, and I guess when you so desperately wanting something you just keep holding the Faith that there may be a little miracle waiting to happen. But the test came back negative.

Wishing you ladies all the best with your journeys, and trust that it is just a matter of time.

I'm going to find a children's home in my area now, and will commit to spending a few hours each month to care for babies who already made it into this world and can use all the love they can get. I have a lot to give, so here's to my personal journey changing gears from struggle to opportunity.

Lots of love,
Al xx

Heya Ladies!

EMJ - It is important to get the right O day but maybe just increase ur BD days around the time before stressing yourself out with OPK's. They become evil little sticks that never want to go dark! You definitely need to BD before the positive OPK so that the sperm has time to reach the egg before it dies which can take a really long time or even just a few minutes, we never really know. Perhaps try every second day from CD10 and then every day from positive opk for about three days like Jooste. I never managed to do the every second day, I was doing it every day for fearing of missing it. LOL!!!

@Nikita - How is it going hun? Any BFP or AF signs yet? You must be close now.

@Jooste - Thank-you for your optimism!! You made me smile and get watery eyes :) Im sorry AF treated you so badly this month :( Im officially well into my pack of Visanne and shouldn't get AF for the next few months atleast... The up side is no period and hopefully halt the endo for a while and the down side is not trying naturally :(

Being at it (TTC journey) since May 2009 - I can honestly tell you that I I've come to realise that it will happen when it will happen. Irrespective of whether you drink all the supplements on the market or quit caffeine and alcohol completely. Having said that, looking at the two times I managed to conceive naturally (one ending in a succesful pg and one in the miscarraige) - I realised that we did the following:

- Took 4 staminigro's at night (both DH and myself)
- Spend more time in the sun (or supplement with VIt D)
- Increased DH's Vit C intake (he is also taking Sperm I Prove)
- BD at least 7 times during +OPK (4 times before OPK turned positive) and then 3 days thereafter
- Used preseed
- Used Ecotrin (was placed on it via my FS in 2012 during the IVF and since then I've been using it during the months when we were TTC).
