Julz, what a relief to know that someone else also experienced the same as me! I have been feeling a little distraught that I was not espressing milk.

I hear that S26 GOLD is great and seems like most peads have recommended it so I think I will go with that one if I need to.

I hear you on the body not producing milk for that feed, I only plan to use it when I really need to, will have to try to espress then as well. If I miss the feed for one day will it be ok the next as I won't be able to espress at the soccer match

Bundle your breasts do settle. Mine didn't leak at all nor could I express and Dylan was fine.

Our paed recommened the formula. s26 gold is excellent. Expensive but for the odd feed no worries. Basically they are pretty much the same. Shake the tin before you scoop the powder out or your lo could become constipated.

Just remember that if you substitue one feed on a regular basis, your body may stop producing milk just for that feed.

That is how I was able to bf Dylan morning and night and the milk would just arrive at 6 each night. So amazing.

So I tried espressing after every feed yesterday and it didn't go well. Not sure what is up but I can't seem to espress a lot of milk anymore and my boobs are never full and hard like they used to be. I really hope I don't have a problem with my milk supply. Luke doesn't seem to be hungry after his feed so hope he is getting enough.

Does the fullness and hardness go away once your milk supply is established maybe, or does it mean I don't have much milk anymore?

So now, even tho I am not happy with the idea of giving him formula, am thinking I may have to on the occasions when I need to ie. when I go to the soccer world cup match and when I am not around for hubby to feed him with formula.

QUESTION - How do you know which formula to use? did your paed recommend it, I really don't want to have to go and spend R500 just to ask him which formula to use!

I so wish the espressing would have worked, but its going no where!! :(

Jungle Juice Recipe

Ingredients

* 1 litre apple juice, grape juice or berry juice (liquifruit/ceres/joy/wide)
* 1 litre water
* 60mls Schlehen Blackthorn Berry Elixir (ask at the pharmacy)
* 1 Sachet Blackcurrant Rehydrate or Raspberry Electropac

Method
In an empty 2 litre cool drink bottle, mix the above ingredients together and store in fridge. If possible, drink 2 litres in 24 hours or drink a glass at each breast feed. You may also wish to add 8-10 drops of Rescue Remedy to each glass you drink.

More ideas to help increase your milk supply

1. Add Fresh Ginger to your diet. Try a slice in tea or grated into food. Stoney’s Ginger beer is ineffective as it contains an artificial ginger flavourant.
2. Eat some Fresh or Frozen blackberries, raspberries and/or blueberries. Try making a berry smoothie or eating berries with breakfast.
3. Brewers Yeast tablets!? (Not sure about this one)
4. Drink some Weleda Galactogue Tea – available at health shops.
5. Take Fenugreek capsules – 3 capsules 4 times a day.
6. Have a healthy diet and rest between feeding.

Oh my word, that would make sense why my breasts feels fuller in the morning than in the early evening.

Thanx Julz, perhaps that is the reason the espressing was not working so well. Shall give that a go rather ;)

Bundle night time is not the best time to express. That is when milk supply is at it's lowest. First thing in the morning is best.
