Yaz, I agree that moms should not say they have easy babies cause they are doing it "right" we all just do our best. How easy or how difficult a baby is, also has a lot to do with their personalities, not what ever mommy is doing right (or wrong).

GW, you hit the nail on the head! I am very happy for all moms who have easy babies (even though I'm a tad bit green with envy ;) ). Having a pretty high needs baby myself I, however, get totally p*** when the respective moms say it's because they are so relaxed and because they are doing everything 'right'!

I'm pretty sure that high needs baby = high needs toddler so I'm bracing myself for things to come in the next 2-3 years, but I'm secretly hoping for an angel teenager (there must be some justice in this world!?). Then again: is there such a thing as an easy teenager - especially girls?

Charnenay - Kaylin is also an easy baby... in fact i gave birth at 13:05 after being induced at 6am and literally sleeping through labour

I woke up pushed twice and this gorgeos little girl was there, and she was a blessing at night since birth, yes she woke up but as soon as she was on the boob she practically ate herself back to sleep, i put her down and it was done. She started sleeping through very soon and now at six months tomorrow we only get up at 4am to feed (which is as we leave for work at 5:30)

She got a bladder infection at 3 weeks but i only new she was sick because she was just more clingy than usual and didn't want to sleep as well as before.

She probably could skip the 4am feed but for some unknown reason she insists on fasting between 1:30 and 6:30... if i offer her a bottle she just spits it out LOL. She also doesn't nap from when we pick her up at the MIL at 4ish until bed time... but you cant blame her its the only time she spends with mom and dad

I guess i am due a difficult second child... :-) if i have a choice in the matter...lol

GW - that's what I always say. Emily is a REALLY easy baby, but I suspect my time will come, she is either going to be a very difficult toddler or teenager (I'm hoping toddler rather than teenager though). Either that, or my 2nd child is gonna be a NIGHTMARE!!!! When Girly came to visit me and she was having a tough time with Kaylee and Emily was a piece of cake, I told her that she would be laughing at me in a few years when I have a difficult toddler and she has an angel.

Gloeiwurmpie, I totally agree! It has been proven. If I say "my baby slept well", the next night she'd keep me awake!

I think I must delete my previous comments..... :woohoo:

Charnenay,

I am a bit of a superstitious freak. Friends of ours had this really SUPER EASY baby. They were always saying that they think it is because they are such "relaxed parents"...I just laughed in my sleeve, because I think most children are born a certain way and their "easiness" doesn't have much to do with the parenting style (to a certain extent). My husband and I always joked that they will get twins when they TTC a next time. When the fell pregnant again, we couldn't believe it when it turned out to be TRIPLETS!! We were laughing....but eversince, I NEVER say my baby is "easy"especially because of something I do. I am just extemely grateful for every moment that does go smoothly and NEVER TALK ABOUT IT.

ps: I am not really superstitious....but I have heard the "old people" sayinng that a child is often easy in one stage of his life but most children goes through a difficult stage....easy baby, easy toddler, teenager from hell....Don't know if it is true or just a very pessimistic statement.
