I'm not 100% ok with vaccinations because I know there are risks, but I still have my son vaccinated because I think the diseases they protect against are worse than the possible risks (and chances of them developing) of vaccinating.

Kirst I agree with what you said but on the other hand if the possible risk is death how can it be ok to take your LO? Another thing is, we dont have a choice in taking our kids, these are goverment prescribed vaccines and should your green card not be up to date, you battle to get your LO into school. Please also dont forget that these vaccines are also produced by one or other pharmaceutical company want to make a buck and purchased from them by our government.

I don't think they have determined the cause of death of the babies in cpt. But those babies did not die from fever, they turned blue due to a lack of oxygen. And it happened very quickly after the vaccination, not the night after. So I don't think your friend's case can be related to those two babies. If there was something wrong with the vaccines in Cpt, all the clinics will be on high alert, checking their stock to make sure it doesn't come from the same batch.

Yes they might not be able to directly link them currently but on the off chance they are linked? What then? Do you want to take the chance? Also Doctors and Paed's have contracts with Pharmaceutical companies to prescribed their meds, so they arent going to say anything negative about Phizer or Aspen or whatever company.

Also please take this into account, these are the only reports we know of, what about the ones we dont know about.

I know my post will most probably cause a mud fight but I am concerned as I would not make it through losing one of my kids.

Please also take note this is not my first and only child, my daughter is almost 6 and has had all her vaccinations done.

On another note I really feel for her cousin as she has had a long battle in falling pregnant, to finally have a baby and for him to die like this? It makes me really sad.

Ann I am so sorry for the loss. It must be devastating to say the least.

These incidents always make us do a double take, but millions of babies are vaccinated each year. I am sure your friend will know shortly if it were the vaccine or not.

With everything in life we know that there are risks. We have to decide if the risks outweigh the good and usually they do. In the case of vaccines they outweigh the risk hugely. Yes there will be the exception. There always are.

Last I heard the "CT Babies" autopsy results were going to be completed by Thursday (yesterday) but released to the police and they would then decide what happens next.

<these are the same babies right?>

Ann - I think this is one of those "divided camp" issues that has moms worked up into a total frenzy.

The rational answer is vaccinations do not cause death or the MMR is not linked to autism.

However ..... unexplained things have occurred, and often there is a causical (is that spelt correctly?) link formed - I did this and that happened so the two must be linked, but this is not always the case.

Hence the emotional reaction and the frenzy around this issue.

I suggest if you are nervous/scared you pop along to your specialist PAED and chat to him/her to reassure you.

I think opening this "pandora's box" is going to have people screaming and running for the hills, and my guess is not going to calm you in any way.

I have 3 children who have had full vaccinations and barely registered any issues.

I know dozens if not hundreds of children who have had vaccinations and albeit for a mild temperature there were no long term effects.

However there does seem to be this "boogie man" that lurks around vaccinations.

>I hope that when the autopsy is performed and the findings are made you also let us know what those are. I am somewhat sceptical when I hear stories without sufficient details.<

Of course I feel sorry for any mom or family who suffer the loss of a child, and there is no easy explanation, or consolation.
