For the first couple of weeks I wouldn't even let relatives touch my baby. And kissing on the mouth is a MAJOR no-no!!
I think it's better to be considered rude, than go through something like RM did!

Its like when you are showing people your new born baby. They are not suppose to touch or even hold the baby. Just look with your arms at the back say some cute things to baby. Some babies get irritated by the touching and exchanging. But some people dont know this rule, so with mine they will think im over protective or something.

I'm with RM, I ask them not to touch, or I gently stop their hand as it reaches out.

I still do it with Brandon who is almost 4 and people want to ruffle his hair cos it is short & spiky.

... and then they ask "You don't mind, do you?" but they are ALREADY touching your bump!

I also get pretty worked up about strangers touching my baby. I've noticed how many people don't wash their hands after using the toilet... enough said.

My cousin told me the other day a complete stranger actually kissed her baby boy of 5 months ON HIS OPEN MOUTH!!! She was so shocked she couldn't get a word out!
