file YES/NO to pierce your LG ears

This was a very long on and off debate between me and DH for Mia starting before she was 1 year old. I was yes and he was no, then he gave in and I wasn't sure.

He said we must wait until she asks for it to be and explain all about it (thinking she will be about 8 years old when she asks for it to be done).

Anyway, I eventually gave up being a chicken and she got bigger and I was worried they'd get pulled at school or she would play with them and get them infected so I gave up the urge to pierce them.

Then in December she started asking about proper earings like mommy, granny and oumi that go through her ears as she was playing with the clip-ons. I explained it was sore and she said ok, but she still wants them. anyway, she kept asking for proper earrings and then in April one afternoon when I fetched her we walked past the chemist and she asked again, so in we went after explaining again it will be sore and the care afterwards. Done, screamed, got sweet, sobbed a bit for about 30 mins and never looked back. She's very proud of them and loves and shows them off.

That being said. Mia's earlobes are big and much bigger than Hannahs are and I really don't think I'll get Hannahs done until her ears grow - they're so tiny at the moment!!!!

Hi

I can't even handle her getting a vac, so I'm in the no earrings until she is responsible enough to take care of it, i.e. clean, etc. it herself.

Hubby was for it, but he has now changed his mind and now we're on the same page - phew:O)

Blessed and honoured to be a mom to an almost 4 year old. Biggest, best surprise ever!

I had my LG's done when she was 6 months old, purely because I remember when I had mine done (i was 6 or something) and I remember it hurting, it also got infected etc.

And I was tired of everyone asking if B was a boy. I've been wearing the same earrings in my ears for years (since school I think) I don't 'do' anything with it but it's a nice accessory to have.

Married for 13 years

As soon as i heard that im having a girl - I thought hmmm im gonna pierce her ears.

I love it and i think they look nice with their earings on :) Plus people wont have to ask if its a boy/girl ;)

I know its sore and everything. I just wasn`t sure when was the right time to pierce them.

My girl has to be girly. So her hair should be up and ears pierce.

Thats just me.

Yes Jaylee. And it was years ago. The girls are both in Grade 8 now. But ya, I've got some weird family members.

I really don't judge easily, but jinne that was just too much.

Earrings does look cute on little girls, but another thing - when they go to school they are only allowed to wear plain sleeper earrings so what's the use?

:) Ashbaby - there sure is a lot of people doing it, so you not alone. I'm sure your girl loves her earrings.
