file YES/NO to pierce your LG ears

It is a personal choice when to do earings. My daughter nagged from Gr 2 for a bellyring. I refused and said she can have one when she goes to high school .
When she was about 10, she nagged while we were at the mall. I got fed up and walked into a body artist shop. The gentlemen told her he refuses to do bellyrings for under 13 years old, because it will tear when they got older. That solved my problem.

Absolutely agree Julz! I never had my LB circumcised and would only have done it if it was clinically necessary. My DH taught him our to pull it back and clean it properly. Each to their own though.

LoriF I agree with you completely regarding circumcision. It is a personal choice, but we chose to leave Dylan in tact. If he wants his foreskin gone we will pay to have it done.

I think having your ears pierced is a very personal decision and if i had a daughter would have left it up to her to make that decision - no matter at hwat age.
And that brings me to the topic of circumcision - cause I kinda feel the same about it and I differ with hubby on this point. I talked to my pead and he assured me it is not necessary and its a matter of personal preference - which is why I am leaving it up to Ethan to decide. What do you ladies think?

I think LG's are ADORABLE with their ears pierced, so I don't judge the mom's who do it. BUT...... I won't get my LG's ears pierced until she asks. I just don't believe in causing children unecessary pain purely for aesthetics. I know that if a LG has no or little hair, people always think it's a boy which probably could be a little frustrating

Joli - the belly piercing in Grade 2 - that's something else, but (and I might be opening a can of worms here), is it really that different just because ear piercing is more 'publicly acceptable'??? not sure I agree with this statement myself though, so don't shoot me, just putting it out there

Hiya
I had LG ears done when she was 10 month's I must admit I was so nervous i could hardly hold her, but it wasn't even 30 seconds and it was all over (maybe 2 tears). One of the perks is that no one asked if she was a boy or girl after that when b4 in spight of being dressed in bright pink from head to toe I'd still get asked!!
