Thanks for the link Barbara, I've never actually gone as far as searching for groups. I somehow feel better being hounded by mothers who think I am in some way damaging my child

It is not about lazy or not - it is actually alot easier once you get into it than cleaning bums and changing nappies lol. But you have to be consistent on reacting especially if they are a signaller otherwise they just give up.

Babies actually have an elimination pattern and you start to learn it after a few weeks. eg the easiest wee to catch is usually the wake up ones. Rafe would wee within a minute of waking (so we always got that one lol) - funnily 5 years later he is still the same he gets up and goes to the loo on waking. Kara takes about 15 minutes after waking before she wees - always has since birth.

Rafe never weed through the night as a baby he would wake dry and then wee once awake so from about 3 months he slept without a nappy(so if I reacted fast in the mornings we were dry from 3 months). I had much less washing to do.

Kara weed about 3 times through the night so was always wet on waking.

Marijke there are some very nice yahoo support groups for ec'ing it helped alot chatting there. look here for a few links

It's always facinated me but it is not a really viable option for a fulltime working Mom. I say for those who have the time Go for it, all the better for your pockets and the environment.

They(in the east) have like special babygrows with a big hole down there so that you don't have to undress them everytime.

Listen, as far as lazy goes, I was first in line when it was handed out! I also wouldn't have even tried it had I been working full time.

In China (i think) they actually do this in the orphanages to save on nappy costs. Had this brilliant blog about it. www.svmoms.com/2007/08/the-secret-of-t.html
