Gerne, glad your LO is off disposables!!! I don't even have any emergency disposables anymore! I realised having them creates emergencies... And if you have a real emergency, its not like we live far away from Spar...
4 layers should be enough, but it depends on the quality of towelling. I use glodina type material, very thick and soft. The square nappies you buy at PEP and Ackermans is not the same quality. Glodina nappies are available at BAby City if you want to check it out. Its the same as Glodian towels (you get at Edgars) I would put a layer of vilt in anyway, just for fun, it made a big difference to my nappies.

Its fine if the nappy is soaked in the morning, as long as babies clothes are not wet. Just change it as soon as he wakes up.

Oh ok, misunderstood that one. Hope you enjoy the ball just remember it wont really remove horrible stains without a bit of pre-soaking with Vanish or Sunlight Soap.

It wasnt the wahing that smelt of vinegar:) That smelt fine, it was the laudnry area (some vinegar ran outside the machine drum)
So far so good:)

Maybe you should rinse your machine again with just Bicarbonate of Soda on a hot cycle. The laundry should not smell like vinegar. Also did you remember to charge your Biowashball in the sun for 2 hours before using it/ It won't work otherwise. Also remember to charge it for atleast an hour every month. I really hope you enjoy you Biowashball. Let me know if you need waterproofs and what kind as I do have some stock.

The website is taking a bit long because of the Government strikes and I can't open my business banking account without my CC being registered. I really hope to go live by next week. I have been on leave and boy, did i get to do a lot of sewing! yay!

i also got my first 'real' waterproof, from Stegi last week, also loving it! Want to order some more (think i will be using 2kidmamma from now ).

Helene, glad things are working out for you, was thinking about you and wondering if you are going strong. yay for the bargain material hey! You are going to get a lot of nappies out of that!

Anina, thank you so much for the measurements, i was thinking of waiting till i have the waterproofs to see how big i have to make the nappies but now i can just go ahead.

here is how i made my new nappies: almost the same as BMio. in the middle i put one layer of toweling on the flat nappy square, and one layer of fleece. then i fold the sides in, so its actually 4 layers of toweling and one layer fleece. I couldnt get toweling material so i used square nappies and i got 2 nappies out of one doek. which i think is going to work out expensive, i have to get toweling material.
The nappy was very soaked when i changed my LB after about 2 1/2 hours so im wondering if its enough layers. What do you think Anina? should i rather put the vilt in too? I have not seen BMio's nappies up close so i dont have a clue how many layers they use or how thick they are.

BUT at least i made enough nappies for my LO to be completely off disposable nappies, and he now uses the stegi wproof and peps. So yay on saving a lot of money this month and not throwing away a whole pack of nappies in the dustbin!!!!
