Gerne, I just hold the nappy in the toilet, then flush. It takes off most of the pooh. Then I chuck it in the nappy bin with a scoop of hand wash powder and water. By the time I wash, they are basically clean and the washing powder is not as harsh on the nappies as steri nappy. I've had nappies turn a bit holy before with the steri nappy...

Hi all. I've received my MN nappies today. Delivered on my door step, so easy. I've already washed them few hours ago, dried them twice on a machine, not a tumble dryer. And they are already almost dry. I really think I'll love using them. And now that i have them, i'll start looking at making my own using their nappies as a sample. Thanks again.

Our weekend was very sucsesfull again with only cloth nappies, DH just wasnt very impressed when he had to change a very full teething pooh nappie and had to clean the nappy with running water before putting it in the bucket. Told him, sorry dear but thats our life now

Anina, i think that would work out much better, i did see the toweling there at metro for R50 and it looked like a very good quality.

I also asked the guy about what material is the most absorbent and he said toweling and fleece and i said to him what about vilt and he said its not that aborbant than the other 2 materials. thats why i asked you yesterday.

BUT i am still going to give it a try, will get a meter when i got there again.

Gerne, don't go buy Glodina stuff. Just look at the quality then go get it at Metro. You pay about R50 per meter and get around 5 or 6 nappies out of a meter. Very worth it!!!

Your right hey, you do use them if they are there. Im still a bit uncomfortable with what other people would say or stare so when we go to a public place i would use disposable. stupid of me i know.

I think you are right, the quality of the ones that i bought at pep is not that good. i just have to get some glodina then and try again.

Siwe, im finding that the fleece also works great with the absorbancy and it has a dry feel to it even if its wet. so try that too.

Siwe, I don't use booster pads, but I'm sure you could make it. I would use a strip of vilt, and cover it with towelling. Just a strip big enough to fit in the bottom of the waterproof, so about 10cm x 40 or 50 cm.
