Mom2LnB - Anina gave me the advice of using Bambino mio nappies with stegi waterproofs, she gave all her reasons and the pros and cons on another post, if you want to i can get it for you.

i think im going to follow that route, the stegi waterproofs are a lot cheaper than the bambino mio.

maybe try out a few different ones, buy a waterproof from each place (could be expensive but you get to try out the products and still keep them to use). Im going to try out the bambino mio nappies and get a BMio wproof as well as stegi waterproof next month and try them out.

morning mommies

well - what a succesfull weekend! only used 3 huggies gold for the night nappies and one cudlers for church, the rest of the time - cloth ! ! ! Yay.

i think i saved at least 10 nappies over the weekend.

So friday i got the bucket, got the sterri nappy, got 4 extra nappies at Jet, got the snap on waterproofs at pepe, got all the material for making my own nappies and off i went. Saturday DH and i struggled the whole day with my machine and then we gave up :(, he is taking it in today. stupid thing.

BUT 2kidmomma, the pattern worked great, i cut it out and it looks as if it is going to fit perfectly. cant wait!

so now i have tested out the normal square nappies this weekend and have the following question: the nappy was quite wet when i changed him, wouldnt this make him cold or give him a rash? because pampers normally sucks up all the wee and make it into a gel!? just wondering about that.

oh and also, if i make my own nappy, do i still use liners? my LB had pooh nappies and the liner catched the poo nicely, if you are not using it he will pooh directly onto the fabric hey?

ag girls, i am so happy for all your support - thanks so much!

anina, your nappy is so cool. can you give me the meaurements of the nappy and how many layers do you use in the middle panel? Sorry if I missed a post if you explained the measurements, havn't been able to read them all.

My LB just has plain old Terry squares on today, I am still waiting for my 5 new Mother Nature nappies and still only have the 3. He has managed to go through two by 10.30 because just as I changed his first MN nappy he managed to Poo in the new clean one straight away so that one didn't even get wet. I see your concept is that of the original Chinese Prefold, I see there are lots available to buy overseas, wonder why you can't get them here and only with the Bambinimio nappy system. In the US and UK you can buy 6 packs of Prefolds like we buy the terry cloth nappies.

And finally put it into the cover, and onto baby. No snappy or any other device, the cover will hold the nappy in place. I'm using a Stegi cover in this pic. Will try to remember to take a pic of the nappy on babies bum tomorrow...
