Huggles that cover looks like a Stegi cover. The company no longer exists.

I just love seeing all these cloth bum baby pics! ♥

Like Lennongirl said I started the Loan Nappy Bucket on Doodlebums, maybe it can help you to "try before you buy"?

www.doodlebums.co.za/c364/Loan-Nappy-Bucket.aspx

It says on there the trial ends today but its just because I didn't want any buckets going out over the Christmas period.

I am going to tweak the t's and c's a bit and include liners and maybe more washing powder. Just waiting for the last bucket to come in to hear the moms opinion.

I would get at least three different brands to try out before you invest in more - and you can get just one or two of each brand to try.

Check out the loan nappy bucket offering from Doodlebums - you can try a few different brands without the huge upfront cost. I think that's a great option for anyone new to cloth - wish it was around when I started out.

Just want to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread - it has been so helpful!!

I would like to give the cloth nappies a go and have been feeling so overwhelmed by all that is out there.
Lennongirl your blog has helped and I think I have narrowed it down. With the FancyPants being the smallest, I will get a few of those and then was thinking of going the Bam+Boo route too, although all the stories of them taking ages to dry have made me nervous! Will only get around 6 or 7 to try out and take it from there. Is this a good idea or should I get at least 10? Maybe I should incorporate a 3rd brand? Was thinking the MotherNature but man alive there are seriously mixed reviews when it comes to them!

I'll still be stocking up on a few disposables for the first few weeks. A) in case the cloth doesn't fit and B) in case I start losing my mind.

I think the pack I got was a 12 pack. Might have been a 10 pack.
I didn't really use them as nappies much though - that photo was more me playing around. I used disposables at first and then cherub trees as soon as they fitted. I had 18 cherub trees and I only washed every 3-4 days (so twice a week) (I used disposables overnight). But they would work on a newborn, just not as they get older and the wees get bigger.
