Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

I dry bucket, machine rinse then wash with with non-bio wahing powder (Gnld / Time) and hang them out in the sun whenever possible (bleaches out stains). Easy - peasy

SimoneC, if you are set on using the nappies from the 1st day then any OSFA nappy you buy will be bulky on a new born up until about 6-8 weeks. Disposables are easier in the first few weeks while the babies tummie settle. The only OSFA nappy that will work perfectly on a new born up until a toddler is teh cherub tree. If you are set on using cloth from day one then why don't you consider buying some fitted nappies like the Earthbabies Size 1 and Two fitted with waterproofs but I really think this would be a waste financially speaking. I think like GwenE suggested rather use disposables for the first few weeks. If you are dead set agains regular disposables then please do try the Bio degradable disposables on our website. All the one size nappies can technically be used from birth but will be bulky and may even leak but then can be used right up until about 17Kg's or 3 years.

I've also tried the bam+boo one size fits all. It works really well, bamboo takes a little longer to dry than the cotton. But would be a bit bulky on a newborn. You will probably find this with most one size fits all nappies. I would then recommend considering disposables for the first 6weeks. I changed to cloth at 2 weeks and found the next 4weeks when every nappy is a poo nappy a little challenging. Once they settle down to one poo a day/week it gets a lot easier

2km the cherub nappy....are they fine for newborns as well? As Hasie says the Econobum is too big for newborns? To be honest I do think I may go disposable for the first 2 weeks about..or alternate...cloth during day and disposable at night? A friend already bought me nappies as a gift.

Okay ladies...washing them!!! Can I wash in washing machine? Do i need special washing powders or detergents?

The Cherub tree....how many nappies and what is the cost? Is it for the larger pack or the starter one?
