Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

2km's liners are great! You can reuse them many times if not soiled. Pick n Pay and Pep also sell liners which work fine

Are these liners readily available at any store? Or do I have to order them through you 2km?

I agree with KarienH about the bumbeetles. I have two snugglybum nappies which look exactly the same as bumbeetles and they leak everytime I use them
Sad, cos poor quality nappies like that give other cloth nappies a bad name!
Think I'll just use them as swim nappies in summer

I use cherub tree and bamboo and I love both. They are very well designed and I'll definitely recommend them. Like 2km said, the cherub tree fits smaller babies best, but probably not before 6 weeks. And the bamboo ones are really pretty, I love the colours

My baby is now 3 months and I started using cloth at about 6 weeks. I'm really glad I used disposables those first weeks - it's a crazy time and they use A LOT of nappies and every single one is dirty.

I also have bumbeetle nappies but they keep leaking on my baby so I wouldn't recommend them.

I would also suggest you use nappy liners, esp for the first few months because the poo is runny and hard to get of the nappy.

And I use the same washing method as GwenE, but I use Mary Ann's Laundry Powder.

2Km i think i'll use disposable the first weeks. On your site now so will check out the disposables...also went through the 'cloth nappies 101' article:) Very helpful.

The Cherub tree....how many nappies and what is the cost? Is it for the larger pack or the starter one?

At the moment you can save R280 on the 10 pack Cherub trees with a pack of liners and a night booster and only pay R1200, it was R1480. The 20 pack you save R500 and only pay R2400 with 2 packs of liners and 2 night booster. it was R2900

You wash in your washing machine. If you ahve a biowashball great, if not you can try use a biodegradable product like earthsap or tripple orange on PNP green range but if not then use regular detergent but keep the dose to as little as half and make sure you strip your nappies with vinegar every so often to get rid of soap residue.
