Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

Helene, I don't put my covers in the bucket. I rinse them out with a little bit of sunlight hand wash powder straight after changing the nappy, then I hang them up to dry. That way I always have a clean dry cover to use. If I happen to be washing nappies and there are dirty covers, then i put them in the washing machience with the nappies.

hi there! i rotate my covers. use abou 2 a day and with every nappy change i change the cover as well. i leave the one i just changed out to air, with the next change i would use that one again.

I have been putting the covers in my bucket though. (dry bucket) and i find they go funny. Should i not even put them in the dry bucket. So i just keep them in seperate container untill wash day?

does anyone know or use the product: Triple Orange Bio Detergent?? It is a biodigradable washing 'soap'. I bought a bucket today and want to use it for the nappies. Will wash on monday and let you know what i think!

The reason y I got my MN nappies so late is because the covers got wet outside & wet baby's clothes. I called MN head office in CT & told them bout how not waterproof they are & they said they had a batch of covers that were faulty & thought that they had weaded them out. So i sent them the covers for them to see & it took them about a month to send me back proper waterproof covers (by then I had left the country)
Then my mom REFUSED to send the nappies as she thinks they cause nappy rash, etc, etc y do I wanna make more laundry for myself, etc, etc (story 4 another day)
Finally got them this week
My nappy covers are waterprood now (they replaced the faulty ones). I leave the nappy on for 4 hrs, the longest was 4,5 hrs & the covers didnt get wet on the outside. My boy dsnt pee much, he sleeps thru for 12 hrs & he's disposable will not b full. He pees & fills it up after he wakes though. I hvnt made him sleep in the MN nappies yet.

2kidmamma Since u are stocking their nappies, mayb tell them there are still some un-waterproof covers in the market...

@ Kid2mamma: Did you get hold of the cherub tree people. I am very impressed with the nappy and would like to get a few more, but dont even know where to get hold of them or anything.

And Zodwa, I agree on the NO soaking covers!!! It kills them! Especially Stegi covers...

@Zodwa - I use 2x MN w/proofs per day. I alternate the 2 throughout the day, so both gets used 2 or 3 times (unless there's a poo nappy). This way they airdry a bit before I use it again.

Zodwa, the MN waterproofs tend to get wet inside and out quite quickly. I would change it probably at every 2nd change if you keep your nappies on for a long time. You will also know immediately that it needs replacing because it starts to even feel wet on the outside. (They are definately not as waterproof as the Stegi or even Pep waterproofs) One thing I must warn you against, do not soak the waterproofs, they will become useless if you soak them. Rather treat stains individually and wash them with your nappies when you are ready to wash. don't let them go in the Bucket with your Nappies.

Anina, the Mother nature are bamboo nappies( Bamboo cotton towelling) And you need a seperate cover) mothernature have just launched an All In One Nappy but I havn't tested it yet. It is on my website and is probably quite nice but I can't comment as yet.
