Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

I use one scoop sterri nappy in my nappy bucket. so i come out long with the sterri nappy.

I love it, it makes the white nappies whiter and take the stains out of the colored nappies without staining it. I also throw the water (sterri nappy water) into the machine when i wash the nappies so then i dont have to put washing powder in as the sterri nappy is enough soap.

If i knew about sterri nappy with my 1st LB i would have used it on his burp cloths, it got stained bad from rooibos tea. and i could never get it clean.

i must say that it does make the nappies feel a bit hard but as soon as you fold it, its back to normal and soft again. Oh and then i use a little bit of softner about every 2nd week to just soften up the nappies a bit.

(remember i only use my own nappies and dont have any 'name brands'. the pep wproofs is thrown in the sterri bucket but not the stegi proofs)

If you must use Sterri nappy it's good for soaking Butternut stained bibs in and dirty white clothes but I would keep it far away from your Nappies!! It doesn't make any colours run and it's great to get food stains out of Bibs but will kill your nappies.

Absolutely Claudia, there are some studies out there suggesting it's not as ECO Friendly as the Cloth Movement make it out to be but this data is unfounded appantly. How can you compare washing one childs nappy in you washing machine for 3 years to cutting down 20 Trees, and putting them through a process to make disposables (Think of the water use there) and then the bleaching process and then the refining and manufacturing of the disposable just for the same child nappies. I mean Hello!! You can't compare the two.

Helene, sterinappy used to be used to sterilise nappies while soaking ina bicket before washing, but most nappy companies actually tell you not to do this now as it reduces the lifetime of your nappy. Tea tree oil helps to stop nappy buckets from smelling:)
