I think 6-8 month is the enough time for breastfeeding.

I breasfed DS for 3 months, only recently stopped a week ago. It was really difficult for me but I persevered. The last month I was supplementing with formula (still breastfeeding morning and night), as I started work at 3 months and my job is very stressful with no time to express. I stopped altogether as he started rejecting the boob and would cry every time I tried latching him on. I still have emotions over stopping altogether but this is my first and I hope that with the experience I've gained with the first one I can continue for at least a year with the next one. Hoping to be a SAHM by then so this will make it easier!

Wow claudia, you are AMAZING at making a point! Fab, really, that's exactly how i feel! I did so much research on breastfeeding before my baby arrived and I 'think' (I cant be sure cos I've never had problems) that's why I've had such success.. As for pumping, eish, not so much. Especially cos when you're feeding and pumping it's such a little..
There is a bestfeeding thread in the preggie section and every once in a while we post something inspiring, or often something that I found educational, there. You really do have to educate yourself, and there are many good resources on the net. (LOVE THE NET)
