heart VBAC SUPPORT

After our walk, we went back to my room and Xoli got things ready for breaking my waters and the Pethidine and atarax she was going to give me after breaking my waters.
The breaking of waters was not as bad as I thought it would be but the internals were awful! I was told I was now 5cm’s. After the breaking of waters, I was told to sit on the loo for a bit so the water could come out (I guess) and to help the baby down even further. Hardly any water came out which was weird to me but I was so focused on getting thru the cx that I didn’t bother to ask why. I sat through a few contractions but they were Soooooo hectic and the sitting position was definitely not my favourite labouring position! I dragged myself back to the bed to get the drugs  I needed them badly by now.
The pethidine helped me to relax and to fall asleep. At least I am TOLD I slept for over an hour because when I woke up from what felt like a 2 minute nap, the contractions were already the pushing contractions! Xoli checked and said that I was 9cm’s! Xoli says I told her “this thing of yours did not work at all!!!” (this, after over an hour of sleep) LOL!
Got up from bed and sat on the loo whilst they filled up the bath for the birth. Only now were my waters really gushing out and there was meconium in them. This time I did ask what was wrong because I know meconium to be a sign of distressed baby. Xoli told me it must be old meconium because the baby is doing just fine. That was a relief.
It felt like they took FOREVER to fill up the tub but soon it was ready for me to get inside. What a relief the water was!!! I almost forgot that I was still in labour and the hardest part (pushing) was still about to come!
The next contractions, I was pushing involuntarily. It was just my body doing it on its own. I always used to hear people say that but I could never imagine what it felt like.

Wow Hasie, that sounds pretty yummy! I'm definitely going to make some of that!

Joybaby, do you take 3 tables once a day (how many mg in total?) and then one vaginally at night?

Joybaby & Kiewiet it sounds like the two of you are due around the same time, that's pretty cool. ;) Good luck with the last little stretch! Please keep us posted on any news and changes.

I am going for 16 week scan next week Thursday and will hopefully be able to see if we are having a boy or girl! We are super excited!

Do you guys talk to your gynea about VBAC and having a TOLAC at every visit? Do you emphasise on it more now that you are in the last month with due date around the corner?

No need to pierce the capsule, it will melt.

I mixed the rasberry leaf tea with rooibos to make it more palatable. I also made some of my own "jungle juice" with it in. I took 1,5 liters of berry juice, 500ml rooibos tea, 1 liter rasberry leaf tea, around 50 ml elixer. Lovely cool refreshing drink.

I started my Rasberry leaf tea today. Drank 2 cups so far. It's certainly got an acquired taste :D I need to get a tea strainer though, cant stand bypassing the leaves as I sip :D

Also took 3 EPO tablets this morning.
Is it necessary to do the oral insertion as well or can I just stick to one?
Not really feeling the oily discharge. I also read somewhere you have to pierce the tablet so its 'leaking' before inserting. Is this true?

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.
