I see the thread has gone quiet a bit, but I thought I'd share anyway!
Had an awesome visit to the gynae yesterday for my 39wk check-up! Have been a bit unsure the last 2wks as to how things would go as it didn't seem so positive last time. I prepared myself to have to bargain for more time and as I am due on the 4th I was going to tell the docter that they could put my name on the c-section list for Tuesday the 6th and if they wanted to do a c-section earlier they would have to come get me on the farm themselves, but this baby is getting his 40wks!
It turns out he must've had a really bad day last time! We walked in and I don't know what he said, but my husband jokingly replied with wishing him good luck with this fight, as he himself have lost the c-section fight already! The docter then said, Oh, but he's 100% behind me for a normal birth! He looked down at my file and noted about baby being estimated to be a good size, and then said that the man made rule is not to have a VBAC of more than 3.5kg's, but he's broken the "rule" before and have delivered a 4.1kg VBAC without trouble! He did the scan and estimated 3.6kg's - which is on par for the estimations we've had so far - and said even though the head is still high he'll do an internal to see if at least the cervix has started changing. (I've stopped worrying about baby not engaging, because I did some more reading and found that 2nd babies often only engage when already in labor!) I actually thought baby had lifted because since last week I've hardly been able to reach my cervix myself, but he said the head is about 1/5th engaged and even though I'm not dilating yet there is definite change in the cervix! I guess everything just seems far apart because I'm pretty tall!
I'm scheduled to see him again on the 6th to make sure there's still enough amniotic fluid and all that, but he seemed to think we'll meet in labor ward before then. He's prepared to let me go to 41wks if everything stays fine, but then we'll have to cut. I'm not worried AT ALL though - feeling rather cheerful!

I've aimed for the 29th or 30th right from the start, so we'll see what happens! I've only started holding back water for the first time since Monday, so things are changing in my body and I think it's getting ready now. My husband caught me drinking the EPO (after I've almost finished a bottle of 90 capsules!) and asked what it's for, so I explained and he said that he's noticed a change - I should drink as many as I'd like!

We're on good grounds for what's lying ahead now - he's just a bit nervous about driving to hospital in the middle of the night. I'm not worried though - they don't just fall out and I don't want to rock up at hospital too soon. Docter isn't worried about the drive on number 99.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
