Hi ladies

Drumroll please..........................WE HAVE OUR 1ST STEPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMW!!! Sooooo excited!!! To think that just last week I was saying there is NO walking in sight anytime in the immediate futeure, then on Saturday started noticing Missy standing on her own!!!!??...at 1st we thought it was a fluke...but then she did it again...and again!

Then yesterday (HER 1ST BDAY), her nanny was walking her outside holding her one hand...then she let go of her & Elam took about 3 steps on her own before sitting down!!! She did that a few times!!!!

We are sooooo excited!!! But its almost bittersweet cos with all this new independence she is going to have...my liitle baby's really growing up now... Will she still allow me to cradle her? will she still just lie on my chest and fall asleep? Will she still smile& giggle when I get home or will she be too busy doing her own thing? I know it sounds ridiculous, but I am just the slightest bit sad...

T G I F!! Yippeeeee! Roll on weekend!!! This has been a hell of a week for me!

Bronz, thanks for the advise about the sleeping but there is no way that Luke will fall alseep if I am with him... He is just too busy! Must admit tho that my tough love approach is working - he has not screamed for 2 nights now... I have also started bathing him a little later (use to bath and feed him at 6pm - ish)... Now I am feeding him at 6:30-ish then bath time is about 7pm and I let him play a bit and then between 7:30 and 8pm I now lay him down!

Got some awesome news - Luke has started walking on his own (but will stop and sit down on his bum if you make an issue about it )... HEHE!!

Plans for the weekend - - - > Got a Birthday Party for a one year old boy to go to - its gonna be fun!

Next weekend Luke is being Baptized (On Easter Sunday) - I know I have left it a bit late - but when my dad got sick and passed away at the end of last year there was not much focus on it but I had decided I needed to do it before he turned 1.

He has 3 God Parents, 2 who live in CPT (Liesl and Clive) and 1 who lives in JHB (Sven). So Sven will be down in CPT next weekend and I decided that that would be the perfect time to have him Baptized. Our minister was also very accommodating. Afterwards we all going to my house to have some "koek and tee" .

Need to still buy Luke an outfit for the baptizm (he cant wear a little baptizm dress (a bit old for that)). Sven said he would buy Luke an outfit - so we will be looking for something next week Saturday!!

Happy Birthday to Karla for yesterday!

On the topic of walking rings - I know its a very contraversial subject ... The clinic sister bit my head off when i mentioned we were using one... but I also believe everything in moderation. Tayla's delayed crawling I believe is totally due to the walking ring because she knew she could get around in that rather than on her knees... BUT - i also believe that her early walking was because of the walking ring. She STILL isn't walking totally on her own... probably because of her neurotic parents! She takes 20 - 30 steps on her own easily - but we are right behind her when she wobbles and falls.

She has started playing peek - a - boo now... we were always the ones hiding... this week she actually hides behind doors etc and as soon as you find her, she runs away screaming... LOL... needless to say that means either mommy or daddy are holding her handing and running with her! So cute!

Last night she also started a new little trick in her cot - she sits up in the middle of the night and I walk in with her either sitting or standing and crying for her dummy. So in it goes and we lay her down and she falls back asleep. So now the fun and games begin!!!

We did our first official class of Top Tots yesterday and it was really fun... She painted a bunny (when i get it i'll take a pic for you all to see) and played music... drum and tamborine being her favourite... And she actually didn't get too niggly in the entire 1 and a half hours we were there....

Anyhoo - that is my update for today - need to get going on orders while madam sleeps!
