Lumine Annie yay on the winds getting better - they can drive you crazy those first few weeks! Wow well done to your husband - will definitely get it on DVD. Must be so nice to have him at home more

Amanda it is hard sometimes when you don't have someone to share al your fears frustrations etc with. Sometimes you are just expected to be happy and managing all the time!

Took Leah for her weigh in today and she picked up 400g in a week so clinic sister was happy! She is 3.4kg now. Her sister only got to that weight at 4weeks but she was 2.7kg at birth. I went to fetch her birth certificate at the maternity ward and they have just started renovations so thank goodness I missed that!

Its been 3 weeks since I have posted so I have lots of catching up to do. I will get there at some point

Keira Christy was born on Monday 12th March at 10.08 weighing 2.995kg, length of 49cm. So I managed to miss the 3kg mark by 45grams. The first week was hell, I cried so much. She wouldnt latch and I was determined not to give her a bottle so I would express for each feed, spend half and hour trying to latch her and then would feed her the 50mls by syringe. When we left the hospital at 3 days old she weighed 2.7kg and stayed like that until she was just over a week. At a week she finally worked out what to do and latched and I havent looked back. In that next week she put on over 600 grams and was weighing 3.35kg at 2 weeks old . My hubby was so wonderful, he just kept encouraging me to stick with the expressing and using the syringe and said that she would eventually latch which she did. Last Sunday we went out for lunch and I managed to feed her in public. I have a stunning sling from www.earthbabies.co.za for feeding in public.
The c-section went like a breeze, I didnt have too much pain but I have to admit that I took all the pain tablets etc for the first week. I am driving already (although I shouldnt be), I have an automatic so it is quite easy. I only drive to the kids schools and back which is a maximum 10km round trip.

Yesterday and last night Keira would only sleep on my chest so I am very tired today, didnt get much sleep. Today she seems better and is asleep in the camp cot in the lounge as we speak. She has been very good, feeding every 3 hours during the day and going 4-5 hours at night.

The girls just love their sister. Shiloe is a big help as she was with McKeilagh. Mickey jsut wants to love and kiss her sister, she keeps saying "I help you, I help you" or "I hold her mommy". I am so surprised by how well she has taken to having Keira in the house. If I am feeding she sits next to me and doesnt ever try push Keira away.

We are having a family shoot tomorrow, which I think will be so nice. ANd Sunday hubby is at golf so it will be my first full day at home alone with the three girls. I have managed to get the girls ready and to school on time in the mornings and the evenings when DH has not been around I have managed to bath and feed all three girls so I am sure I will manage.

Phhhew! Looks like I am getting my husband back after one year of mad work. He just finished making his movie "Ordinary People", he is a film director. It's a Christian drama based on true events, will be in cinemas from 5th of April. Probably none of us can go to cinema at this stage, unless someone babysits, but rent it later on - it's a good quality movie. Well, Tallulah is really battling with blocked tear duct in one of her eyes for 2 and half months already. Paediatrician said it usually takes really long time to unblock it. So the eye gets infected over and over again, I give her eye drops antibiotic every second week, it's very frustrating, today the eye is red and swollen and she is getting old enough to rub it constantly. Damn!

Angi - Tallulah has lots of winds, she is 3 months next week and it seems like it begins to get better finally. On a bad day I give her 5 ml Gripe Water, if it doesn't help I give her 5ml Bennets Colic Mixture (Dis-Chem over the counter). Also 4 drops of Colief with every feed, and probiotics once a day. Plus she is on Dr Browns bottles, if you ever use bottles they really awesome for not letting too much wind it. Bennets Colic Mixture is quite powerful, it contains alcohol, so it really nocks baby out for like 5 hours or more, so I resort to it only if anything else fails and she is really in pain. After a week or two the Bennets mixture stops working, so I switch to Buscopan syrop (also over the counter), it is similar thing, so paediatrician adviced to use either one or the other, not both together. Then Buscopan stops working and I am back to Bennets, and so on. They do work magic, otherwise your heart breaks from all that painful baby screaming.

Vision - congratulations! So happy for you! It was worth waiting for, hey? Baby pictures please as soon as you can.

Amanda - this forum is a nice place to complain, Facebook is too public indeed and requires shorter messages. I hardly able to open up on Facebook, something always stops me, I am just not comfortable to complain there. Here - I can! And everyone understands.

Zel - like I said before, mama cries more than baby from injections. We just hate seeing them in pain for any reason, even for a good cause.

Angi, a good probiotic like Infantiforte really works for the winds. If they are struggling with winds like Izelle, you can give her 1 three times a day before a feed.

Vision, congrats! Hope Leah is a little angel, feeding and sleeping well!

AmandaSchade - thinking of you! (If you use the hide function on Moomie, will it come up on Google as well? I know only registered users can see what you have written then.) My best friend moved to NZ a while back, and I don't easily make new friends, so it's a struggle for me as well to find someone to vent to besides hubby.

Millay is getting so cute - I am dreading going back to work in a month! Why don't I have a rich husband so that I can stay at home??? . She had her 12 week injections on Tuesday, wasn't feeling so well yesterday from the Prevenar. Had a slight fever and slept about the whole day. Today she is her old self again - full of smiles and just wants to sit upright the whole time she's awake.

Sometimes wish I could just burst and verbally vomit out all the frustrations I am feeling! lol Wow its not always easy, phew!

Sometimes I"d love to b1tch on my FB status but I don't want to complain so "openly". Nobody enjoys reading a paragraph of moaning. And other people are struggling to fall pregnant or have recently lost a baby or some people just had their baby and you don't want to scare them

So where do you go to let down your steam? BEsides hubby/partner.
Shame, I try not to complain too much to him either as he is at work all day. He knows how I feel. I feel the same every day - the depth of my feeling just varies everyday ha ha

I can't even name names here because you're still able to google this group although pics at least will be blocked.

Just thought I would update those who are not on fb - Leah was born on the 22nd of march at 3:35am weighing 3.16kg and 49cm... She is perfect and beautiful and we just love her so much!!!

AFM: no news Izelle battling with winds and telement drops aint helping, heard the bennetts colic mixture is good, so might try that feel so sorry for her some of the winds hurt her...can't believe my poppet was 1 month yesterday time is flying wish she would stay this small, they grow up way to quickly for my liking...
