Just want to find out are any of you ladies planning on going to the baby expo in May?

Annie, I just had a look at the websites for Naartjie, Earth Child, Keedo and some others. LIke you said, its all 'pink for girls' and 'blue for boys'. Earth Child is just pastel colours. Found some other websites but it seems they want kids to look like little grownups.

If I could sew I'd open a shop with COLOURFUL babygrows and rompers and all things baby fashion

Amanda - amazing pictures of feet, why didn't I think of that? I was just taking arty pictures today of Tallulah's feet, but it was first time I actually thought about it. The green top was a present from my stepdaughter Claudia, she brought it all the way from Singapore. Shops like Woolworths, Edgars, Ackermans, etc have usually conventional colors of standard hues (boring!), mostly based on a concept "pink for girls, blue for boys" (super boring!). So if you want to find something less common like this dusty warm green, you have to look in boutiques like Naartjie, Earth Child and others.

Annie, where did you get that green top / romper Tallulah is wearing? I'm looking for that colour green for Vica. She has a blueish/purple pants with pink roses on it and I think a green top will look fabulously colourful!

Oh my goodness Annie! I can see the difference in Tallulah! She does have a glow now. See - you as the mommy knows BEST! Well done.

Those who are on my FB, I just went "feet bedonnerd" (Annie, "bedonnerd" is a harsh word for "go crazy") and loaded photos. Look how Vica's feet has grown. Look how tiny it was. Photos are chronological left to right.




I'm really enjoying Vica now, she is so friendly. Took her to be weighed Friday and then said hello to the nurses in the NICU. There were 2 prem babies in there. I really feel for those moms and I'm glad those days are over.

At least Vica gave hope to the one mom that was there. You could see in her face how she felt better seeing a prem baby who has outgrown the NICU, shame, poor mommy.

I just chatted with Amande Schade on Facebook, her baby Vica is 13 weeks corrected age weighs 6.22, and Tallulah is 15 weeks 5.92. Beware ladies, Vica is going to outdo us all!

Angi - though Tallulah is lseeping on her back, I still bought Angel Care monitor just for the peace of mind. Mine was second hand from gumtree for R700 and workd brilliantly.

Juandre - how is Keira's sleeping at night? Improved at all? I also thought Tallulah had colic, besides all the medicines, I took her to 4 sessions with chiropractor which didn't help at all, and it turned out it was milk allergy.

Heather - 7.1kg at 10 weeks? :-0 Have you contacted Guinness book already? Cause I will. I am like super gealous of all other babies weights! Logan also seems like very content baby, my girl wants to be on my hands all the time.

Simone - really beautiful children! Your husband is not only good man, but all skilful baby-maker (I wanna know the recepie). Congratulations on fast recovery, that's awesome! Glad to find out there are babies that sleep 10 hours like Joshua. Tallulah goes for 8-11 hours of sleep at night, sometimes after 11 hours I wake up like 5 am and go to wake her up to feed, I just cannot sleep any more thinking of that hungry sleeping tummy... Is that normal to sleep that long at 3.5 months?

Ashleigh - your babies are super cute! I was pumping milk for Tallulah for 2 months, I did it after each feed (cause you never know when request for next feed will come) for as much as I managed to squeeze out. It's never too much, so get out all that you can. I had to top up with formula every time.

I started Tallulah on rice cereal and mashed broccoli at 3.5 months. Many would argue it's too early, and I went against all opinions, but I had this gut feel after observing her that she is ready. She literally attacked that food and ate so fast and so skillfully, there was no need to teach her or take it slow. Wierd but true. One hungry baby. She used to drink her bottle like every hour all day long, and keep asking for more. She seems more content and less fussy since I gave her the first foods, even her skin glowing now.

Ashleigh.....sorry for this question, but why am I surprised to see 3 kids....why did I only think you had 2 girls?? Have i been gone for so long I've started forgetting things?? lol. My hubby says he is worried about me because the dumbest things come out of my mouth these days....like I gave birth to my brains with Josh...goodness.t woolies i asked them 3 times for a lamb-chicken pie! I meant to ask for a lamb curry pie. I couldnt understand why the lady was looking at me funny.

Your kids are so cute...look at Taylin's face!!! And wellies and boots?? love it! 2 kids for shots???? YIKES! Don't envy you with that one:(

Are you supplementing with formula? I feed in the morning before work....and then his next feed is pumped milk from the previous day and perhaps 50mls of formula top up if necessary. His feed after that is formula. Then i get home and he'll get breastmilk again for his night feed.

I basically only pump once a day at 1pm at work and that's about 150mls at a time...and he'll drink that the next day. So he gets on average during the week one to 2 formula bottles a day.
