Tallulah is 1 weeks old. Almost every day just as I seat at my laptop to type something for this forum, here she is calling me because that’s what babies do. I am amazed how some of you handle 2-3 toddlers-babies and still regularly chat online. You girls are incredible.

Tallulah is quite peaceful, if well fed. Thank you to all who gave me breastfeeding advice – I appreciate it. First 3 days were tough, she cried and ate all the time, sleeping only 5 hours in 24. Then I consulted lactation specialist and it turned out that Tallulah has underdeveloped sucking ability, which we need to train with a special orthodontic tit on a bottle. Basically she cannot be on the breast just yet, as she sucks and sucks for hours, unable to draw anything out, and its wasting her energy and calories. Lactation lady explained that newborn must sleep most of the time and be fed quickly, so that the energy goes into growing and putting on weight, and not into endless breast sucking. So, I rented a heavy duty pump, pumping the milk out, give it to her every 3 hours, then top up with formula. In a week or two she might be able to take a breast. Shame poor thing, I starved her for the first 3 days of her life. I feel terrible about it. :(

Do any of you experience occasional guilt through various baby care stages? So many unintentional mistakes can be made, it’s make me very nervous.

Does anyone have advice on how to increase milk supply? I eat well balanced diet, but the milk is slow to build up. I don’t want to top up Tallulah’s breast milk meals with formula.

Amanda – Vica is such a sweetie, who does she looks like? Glad that she is home with you and it’s going well. Thank you for advice on infant sleep, I wake Tallulah every 3 hours, she is such a lazy bum and doesn’t like to be woken up. I also set my alarm for 12 midnight, then reset for 3 am and again for 6 am, it is very weird.

Carol – I know how you feel about wanting the baby to pop out now, but at the same time wanting him to come at the right time. Last two weeks, especially in summer heat, were not easy for me, and plus 1 weeks overdue, I felt like climbing on the wall... It was worth waiting for her in the end, the longer she stayed, the better she developed.

Simone - hope your girl is still enjoying her school, I’ve heard so many problems with separation anxiety in kids with regard to school. It awesome when they go and just enjoy it straight away. I remember taking my 4 year old stepdaughter to school every morning, she started screaming the moment I’d open the car door and she realise we going to school. I hated those months.

Juandre – I hope McKeilagh started sleeping ok? Teething is not a nice thing to go through.

Jolene – congratulations on your 4D scan gender news, girls are sweet, just think of all the cute dresses we are going to put them in! :)

Ashleigh – swollen feet and hands were the worst things in my pregnancy. I couldn’t really find a cure, but it helped to rub in any carrier oil (like almond oil) with 6-7 drops of grapefruit essential oil, and also Foot Cooling Gel from Clicks, it brought temporary relieve. I used one or the other, whatever I felt like at the moment and just put my feet up with that stuff rubbed on. Amazingly, this symptom disappears on the day 1 after delivery, although I was told it will take a few weeks.

Zel – your little girl look so relaxed and happy, she is very cute!

Zel, Millay is beautiful.

Well, I went to the Dr this morning. Everything is looking fine. Mia is now about 3.3kg. Dr is very happy and he said now we just have to wait it out. So I guess that means he is happy with the Vbac. He said that if nothing happens this week, then he will see me next week Friday again. BUT, as uncomfortable as I am at the moment, I hope that she stay in a bit longer. I just need to finish my work for yearend before I go on Maternity leave. Because everybody is making funny faces if I say something about someone that must do my work. This is the only thing I hate about this place. Every time my friend who is sitting next to me, or I want to go on leave there is always an issue about is. I don’t know if it is because we are here the longest, but I feel, the other must just learn how to do the work.

Anyway, I must go on with my work otherwise I’m not going to finish.

Hi ladies!

Just a quick pop-in before the weekend!

My LG has been going to creche since she was 3 months old and she is so used to it now. But sometimes mommy and daddy can't leave without her bawling her eyes out. De Wet will also be going to creche from 3 months. I don't want to, but I unfortunately have to work.

Tonight my LG's teacher is doing baby-duty (sleep over) and my DH and me are going out to have all you can eat pizza and then some alone quality time before the little one arrives. Then tomorrow morning grocery shopping and then we pick her up again.

Zelf - Millay is B - E - A - utiful!

Ashleigh - I am a nervous wreck about having 2 little ones in the same house. Luckily my DH is very calm and collected and does every thing I can do (just better in most cases  )

Vision - When is your due date again? Close to mine if I remember correctly. Luckily I washed all De Wet's clothes a while ago, so now I am just waiting patiently.

To all the other ladies, have a blast of a weekend!

Hello Ladies

I typed a nice long reply and my computer decided to restart :headbang:

Zelf thank you for popping in - Millay is gorgeous. I hope the Dr. appointment goes well. Sounds hectic by you but I am sure it will all settle down into a nice routine soon :)

Simone LOL at Addison not liking a bed time - she is a lady with her own mind. Im glad she is enjoying school. We need new pics of Josh! How is Mandy?

Carolsch you are really good being strong like that and not going back for him - it really is the best and in time he will also feel secure with his teachers. I think they do it more for us so that we know they love us :) Dont worry I have picked up 10kg and still have 10 weeks to go

Angi so glad all is going well with your pregnancy - I love the name you chose.

Where is Maureen?

Juandre I hope you and your DH have an awesome time away - I am sure you will sleep for most of it  some children have the opposite effect with sedatives and it doesnt work on them? Sheesh 3 nurseries that is is excessive... But I think I understand with the hospital - the papparazzi in the USA are really bad and dangerous - they will do anything to get a picture and I suppose they just fear for their safety?

Ashleigh do you have low blood pressure? Are you feeling any better? You must get lots of rest - not much time left for you!

I have started washing clothes for Leah finally and getting stuff ready for her now that my busy toddler is back at school :) I only have an appointment next week wednesday. I didnt want to stand in the q to make one at my last appointment and then when I phoned he was fully booked. It will be almost 6 weeks between appointments but ive had no issues so should be ok - just anxious to see that baby is growing and healthy!
