Hi Ladies,
Congrats Zel- how is it having three at home? I am not so worried about Shiloe as she is old enough to understand but I know M is going to be so demanding

.
My placenta is also lying low. My dr has said that at my appointments I am only to do the dip stick test afetr my scan so he can monitor how low it is lying and what precautions must be taken- like having extra blood in theatre etc. He says in his 20 years he has only had to perform 2 hysterectomies because of a low lying placenta.
Lumine- what a wonderful birth story. I know you mentioned not having another baby so it is wonderful you got to have the birth you dreamed of. I also read the Hypnobirthing when I was pregnant with McKeilagh as I was going to have a vbac. Unfortunatly I couldnt have it but have loaned the book out to other friends to use it.
With regards feeding- it is very important as the other ladies said to feed often. This is the routine I was given by my clinic sister for M and I will be using it again this time:
First two weeks- wake baby every 3 hours. Only feed for 10 minutes on each breast, winding inbetween. Which ever breast you finish on is the one you start with the next time. So keep a small book to keep track of feeds and which breast you used first. Last feed is a top up after bath and then let her wake for feeds. From 5 am start 3 hourly again.
From week 2 she went to every 2.5 hours. Only feed 8 minutes per breast. By 6 weeks baby is only feeding 5 minutes per breast as she is feeding every 2.5 hours and has mastered feeding so she is far more efficient. Dont wake her at night- her last feed being after her bath at about 6.30pm. By 6 weeks M was sleeping from 6.30 to 1am and then until 5am. By 12 weeks she was sleeping from 6.30 to 5am.
Even on solids she eats every 2.5 hours. It keeps their sugar levels up.
Simone- so glad all is well. Remember that between 2 and 3 weeks baby will go through a growth spurt (a 6 weeks again). He wont want to sleep and will just want boob. Maybe thats why he was so fussy yesterday. I remember during those times M would only sleep on my chest.
We went for our 4D scan yesterday but Nunotoo was hiding his/her face. We saw small glimpses but nothing like with M. Baby is a healthy weight at 1.4kg's. Stenographer said this is biggish for 29 weeks.
I have my gynae visit tomorrow.
So M is still not sleeping- a whole week

. Took her to the dr yesterday and he said there is nothing wrong- ears, throat, chest, tummy all good. He said she is cutting 3 teeth. He gave me a med they use as a pre med to get her back into a routine. Used it last night and she only woke at 1.30, but then she was wide awake and it took a while to get her back to sleep. But it was much better than getting up 8-10 times a night like we have been.
