Morning Girls

Sorry I haven't posted earlier! Posting from BB out of my hospital bed now.

Millay was born on Tuesday weighing 3.04 kg. She is a beautiful little dark haired girl!! We both had a rough time in theatre, they struggled to get her out because of the placenta, so she got some amniotic fluid in the lungs, was rushed to NICU.. She spend the night in Nicu, and was transferred the following morning to the normal ward.
I had huge problems with the placenta, had the low lying placenta, and then it also growed unto my bladder. I was really scared from the moment I realised it takes longer than usual to get Millay out, then the anaesthesist started giving me oxygen and puttingg in new drips etc. I was bleeding a lot, and the dr just told me if he can't stop the bleeding right now, they will have to do a hysterectomy right there. Luckily he managed to stop the blood. Was in for 2.5 hours.I lost a lot of blood though, so also spend the night in ICU, had a blood transfusion. So this C-section was horrible compared to the other 2!! (By the way- somebody asked-second c-section was the best for me painwise) I had a lot of pain till yesterday, feel a bit better this morning. So that is my update.
Oh - her feet - she has clubfeet, but the paed is sure it's not so bad. The dr is back on Monday, then we will know how it's going to be treated. I must say it I am much more relaxed about it than I thought I would be!
Have a great day!

Hi almal.

Kleintjie skop vreeslik.

N. B: Dit is verby vrek warm.

Morning ladies,

It is cooler today in Durban, thank goodness. The last two days have been terrible. We have the aircon going 24/7 at home.

Vision- yes I did also swim. I didnt go into the sea as such as I was worried I would lose my balance having such a big tummy. But there is a lovely lagoon at Uvongo so I did play with McKeilah in there. I was so sad that Shiloe didnt come with us. Its the only thing about divorce, having to share your kids :(.

Simone- I had a good laugh about the "angry face". McKeilagh looked just like her 4D scan when she was born so it will interesting on Monday to see what this baby will look like.
When Shiloe was born my mom had just started her chemo (breast cancer- she died 15 months later) so I just wanted to be with her so I was driving within a week of my c-section and was hardly home. I have to tell you she was a very unsettled baby. With McKeilagh I stayed home for the first 2 week, when I took her for her weigh in at 2 weeks we also did a bit of shopping and brunch. But other than that we stayed in most of the time and she was far more settled. I also only started driving when she was a month old- lots more pain with second c-section.

Carlene- wow 3-3.2kg at 36 weeks. McKeilagh was born at 36 weeks and weighed 2.87gs which I thought was a good weight. I really hope you get your vbac, it must be an awesome experience. I was all set for one with M but then I got the eclampsia.

AFM- McKeilagh is getting her last molar and all 4 eye teeth at the same time and so has hardly slept in 3 nights. DH and I are exhausted. This morning I woke up feeling nar (from exhaustion Im sure) and ran to the loo to throw up. So there I am leaning over the loo retching and what happens- I pee myself. I just burst into tears, DH thought it was so funny. Not 5 minutes later I have to run to the loo again to throw up and it happens again... The joys of pregnancy.

Cant wait to hear from you Zel.

Well, I’m really tired. I counted the amount of times I got up to go to the loo last night. We went to bed at 21h00 last night. And I went to the toilet 9 times during the night. If I count the before bed and the wake-up loo session then it will be 11 times. It is no wonder that I’m so tired.

Well, just a quick update on my appointment today. Mia is weighing between 3kg and 3.2kg. So she is nice and big. Dr is very happy with everything. I went for bloods, apparently it is normal procedure. My BP is also still normal, so I’m happy about that. So in all, everything is still good for my Vbac. I guess next weeks appointment will be an internal one. If I’m not mistaken then they do internal from 37weeks. Cannot believe that I’m 36weeks already. It makes me even more nervous.

Well, I must get back to work. I told my bosses yesterday that if Mia does not decide to come before the 20th of January, that I’m going on Maternity leave on that day. I’m not working any longer. And still the one guy asked me if we cannot negotiate. Flip, according to the law, I’m not even supposed to be at work at the moment. If I’m not mistaken you are suppose to go on leave 4 weeks prior to you due date. But I will talk to my gyne next week; maybe he can give me a doctor’s letter saying that I must go on maternity leave. I really struggle with the stairs at work and then Mia is also lying with the head on my bladder. No wonder I want to go to the loo almost every 5min.

Well, I must get back to work. Will talk again later on.

Hello everyone

Zelf cant wait for pics! Hope everything went well and you are not feeling too sore.

Simone shoo you have a hungry little boy hey but it is so wonderful that he is growing so well! It is just wonderful to hear that Addison is so accepting of her little brother. Glad you got out and about. I also stayed home most of the time with Bekah but on a saturday i loved going out with dh for breakfast just to get out of the house :)

Carolsch 2.5kg is awesome! Sounds like Janroux is a very busy boy!! Leah also kicks up a storm especially when I lie down
Does Ruan go to playschool? Bekahs is closed at the moment and some days I just dont know how to keep her entertained - she is such a busy bee. The school opens on Wednesday next week.

Chubbychick I also have days where I panic - I am coping really well with just 1 and I am so scared that I wont do well with 2 and will drop the ball but you know what we just have to do our best and love our children.

Yip I am also battling with the sleep thing - I cannot get comfortable. If I lie on my sides my stomach muscle aches, if I lie on my back I get heart palpitations so cant do that for long. It is so frustrating cause I LOVE my sleep  Oh well 2 months left

Time for my Bekahs nap so gonna go put her down before she gets too miserable.

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies!!

ZelF - I am sure a congratulations are in order! You should be holding your precious girl right now! Cannot wait for the pics. Hope you are doing well.. How was the c-sec this time around for you?

Vision - It's terrible to have a friend move away. Especially now!!! MY GOSH 4 degrees! thats why I am the only one feeling like I cannot breath. Don't want to move my eyelids! Makes me hot!

Juandre - sounds like you really enjoyed your 4 days! ;) I am with you on the Yay for the maid! I don't have one that comes in everyday, but I have been calling her every other day to come in. I am just so tired! uuuuugh. McKeilagh sounds soooo cute!!!

Angi great to hear from you. When you are pregnant and sooooo hot you don't care if people are looking at your belly! haha.

Carlene - YOu sound really busy! You should slow down! Enjoy your app and let us know how it went!

Mandy - Thanks for sharing your story. Was wondering when we would here from you.. Shjo - Atleast your little Jenna is with you now. Sounds like we should not expect that everything will go the same the second time around... Do great to hear that she latched so quick! I really struggled with Ruan and ended up having to use a nipple shield for him to properly drink. Please post some pics!!!! pleeeeze... (of course when you have the time ;) )

Simone, I had to laugh now. Some babies just need time! hehe. But I think he"s gorgeous ;) I also kept Ruan at home for the first month. But I totally understand, having another very busy one at home I would do exactly the same. And wow! on all the weight you lost!

CC- wow what a nice surprise! I would looooove some vouchers! You know I just realized my baba don't have spoegdoeke!!!!

Ashleigh - I can also not stand the weeing at night! just tooooo much! 2.4 is a great weight.

Which reminds me.. I was so scared Janroux would be growing too big as I feel huge. But he is 2.5kg B) And he is sooo busy. I promise you, since I have sit down and started typing he has not stopped squirming scratching kicking stretching at all. And he really does not care if I stand or sit or walk. He would just carry on. I was laughing a few days ago I was talking to him and rubbing my belly and the suddenly he gave a few hard kicks and because of all that exitement he started hiccupping! (spelling???) Was so cute! Anyway Ruan is driving me insane. He is just so impossible when we go to the shops and when we are at home he is constantly doing things he shouldn't guess he is just looking for attention. His mommy is so tired all the time... Then other times he is the cutest thing. Well alot of the time :) Anyhooo bet you are tired of reading!

Have a great evening xxx
