Fellow-mamas! Hallooooo!

I get a notification once you post but I don't always have my hands free to sit down and respond :-)

Love the photos of the babies and their siblings - keep them coming.

My "time travelling" baby Vica is doing great, she probably weighs close to 9kg now, loves to eat, doesn't drink milk during the day but makes up at night. I'm just happy she gets SOME in, seeing that she was prem. I've never slept through since having kids so at least once she eventually sleeps through I will too (and Dieter!). Paed said its fine that she doesn't drink during the day.

I'm sick at the moment, laryngitis (I have such a sexy voice now......yo hot mama!) ha ha Dieter has a phlemy cough. I can't take anything but panado (bf-ing). Even if I take Dieter to the GP I know he'll get medication which no human can get in his body. I've learned that homeopathic remedies he takes with no problems. So if he gets worse or a fever I'll take him to his homeopath. The other day I had him there for his eczema and he couldn't wait to take his powders in the evening and his drops in the morning..... silly boy :) If it is syrup (which GP's normally give) there is no way of getting it in his mouth and down his throat. So I've just given up the fight. We're all happier now.

I'm so grateful having my mom close by as hubby's been working late some nights due to a deadline they have to meet within the next 2 weeks. So I called her the other day to help me with the kids. Shame, she is so old (physically) but mentally she is as mischievous as my kids! Love her, wish she could live forever and ever! She's helped me so much this week. When we're at her place she'll be sitting down. Dieter would call her to come outside with him, she'll struggle to get up and then go outside. Soon she'll come back inside telling Dieter that ouma needs to rest quickly. Then she sits down. I swear its not 2 minutes then he calls and she'll get up again. She's so awesome.

Miss Kay - I give prune juice to Vica. At first we gave Laxette to help her go every day but I didn't like the idea of "medication". So we're on prune juice and I try to make her drink water and/or rooibos tea. Nice recipe for ice tea in Feeding Sense:

1 liter boiling water
4 flavoured rooibos tea bags
250ml clear juice (any kind) - I use clear apple

Mix cool, refrigerate, serve. Its really nice - I drink of it too!

Dieter calls Vica "caca" (I'm spelling it with a "c" like in her name as with a "k" it will just sound rude) :D

Cookie Monster - Your daughter looks like you and your son looks like his dad (from the glimpse I got of you while back in that restaurant :-) )

I did the same with Dieter - at night I'd offer him water instead of boob, he cried the first two nights but after that he was fine - but then he'll drink the water. I still can't get him off my boobs :headbang:
Vica I gave formula the very first time I had to leave her with my mom when I take Dieter to his Moms and Tots class. She used to drink it (never finished it) but now she just plain refuse so I stopped stressing my mom would offer water or tea and wait for me. But she's just to darn inquisitive to concentrate on drinking. Sigh

Juandre enjoy your full nights sleep tonight! ;-)

Carlene who crochet (spelling?) the pink beret/hat thingy on your baby? I like it!

Here's Dieter and Vica few weeks back:

Vica sits unsupported, has no teeth and really wants to move but hasn't figured out the crawling / leopard crawl thing yet. But she's almost 7 months corrected age so I'm not worried. I just hope she crawls by her first birthday in November.

Anyway, take care mommies x

Hi Everyone!

Logan is so NOT fat! As De Wet was born weighing 4.3kg and measuring 60.5cm the pediatricians told me from the start that people will tell me he is fat, but he is not. He is REALLY tall and weighing 10kg now at 6 months. They also told me that he will be later in achieveing milestones, as bigger babies tends to reach milestones later. So don't listen to them!

AFM - De Wet is also struggling with his chest, but this is in his genes as his sister (who wasn't that big at birth and myself) are struggling with this. The pediatriacian also told me that since he was born with two bottom teeth, he will only get permanenet there and no milkteeth. He eats chicken, any vegetable, yoghurt, any porridge and slap chips (haha!). Sometimes he sleeps through, otherwise he wakes once a night. He is still not sitting for long periodes and he adores his little sister. Attached a photo of them!

Have a lovely day!

Thought today is a good day to show my face :woohoo:

Logan was in hospital a few weeks back with Pneumonia and low oxygen levels. He scared us a few times and had to be put on oxygen. We were hospitalised for a week and recovered fully, after a week we are struggling again with his chest. Dr says its a viral infection this time, but if he isnt better by friday we must take him back to Dr.

Do you believe that fat babies have more trouble with their chests than others. Everyone at work is telling me my boy is fat and he must stop eating so much. :headbang: But the Pediatrician is happy with Logans growth, should i worry. Anyway, had lots of issues from work with me being off sick while Logi was in hospital. Makes me want to quit and start my own business from home.

okay enough of the problems,

Logan is weighing in at 11kg and his height is 78cm. Still no teeth and eating anything and everything, even some of our food. We are trying to do the whole BLW thing, and so far so good. He has had banana, french toast, strawberries and brocolli. Every evening before supper i give him something to nibble on and play with, Then i will give him pureed food just to fill him up.

We are still waking up once at night, but last 3 days have been torture with him screaming every hour and sleeps for 15min then scream for another hour until 2/3 in the morning then he sleeps till we ready to leave for work. I put it down to his tummy was probably cramping. Cause last night he was fine again.

Hope all the ladies are doing well and those precious angel babies are keeping you on your toes.

Here is a recent pic of my 2

Hi Ladies,

Angi- Try using Woolite from Woolies. I know a few ppl whose babies had a reaction to sunlight baby so they use this.

AFM- Keira is really enjoying this new formula. She is still waking at night, but downs a bottle and falls asleep straight away. She is now rolling all over the place so no leaving her anywhere. She is such a chatter box, when she wakes up in the morning she can lie there for up to an hour talking to her mobile, thank goodness as this gives me time to see to the rest of the family.
Next week I have to go away overnight to deliver training in Richards Bay so hubby will be left with the 3 girls all alone :D. He is a hands on dad but I dont think he realises what it takes to get all three girls up and ready and out the house by 7.15am. And bath time with the two little ones alone is lots of work, so I think Shiloe will be helping out. I know I will miss them terribly but I am looking fwd to a full nights sleep, hope that doesnt sound selfish. Shiloe turns 10 on thursday, I cant believe it was 10 years ago that she was born. She is such a wonderful child, never back chats, always does what is told, does her homework without being told to etc. I was so blessed with her, when I was a single mom before I met DH she made it so easy. On Saturday we had her party, she wanted a picnic so we went to a local place that does picnics for you. We left the babies with my MIL so that the afternoon could be all about Shi. It was lovely and her friends had a ball. They ran around like hooligans and not young ladies.

Ok ladies, hope you are all well.

Eli all

Can't believe its been 2 months since I last logged on, where has the time gone...

Carlene ur girls are adorable..

Izelle and myself have been fine, she's 6 months old already, weighs 7.4kgs and a real busy body, does not wanna lay down at all loves to sit between ur legs and play with her toys and if given the opportunity will stand, talks to herself in the mirror and is always smiling but very mommy vas, cries blue murder if she don't see me...she wakes up at bout 2am for a 50ml of bottle and a chat (which mommy is not very lus for) but we just pop her back in her cot and she chats to herself and eventually falls asleep, looks like the start of teething...she has excema so pead gave cream but that causes a reaction so can't use it, so far annique baby lotion is working fx it stays that way, her washing powder caused a horrible reaction so now to find another 1 that agrees with her...hubby away for 2 weeks and me being such a baby is by mum, she's enjoying Izelle so much and those 2 together can chat for ages...Izelle is starting to hold her bottle but only when it suits her and dressing her is getting difficult can't lie still for 5 minutes she's a real wriggly worm, she's loving bath tym, she actually cries if u take her out, can't believe it was the same baby who screamed when you bathed her...we had our 1st mini holiday (no men) and she loved the pool, looked to cute in her cozzie...

Enough bout me and Izelle now hope you are all well and your precious angels are growing nicely...

2 precious angels in heaven...we think and miss you everyday
