Hi Ladies,

I spoke to my clinic sister and she said that until they are 6 month old it is quite normal for them to still wake for a feed. But from then on they can be sleep trained in the way that Carlene described. Keira wakes one to two times a night but I know its been because she hasnt been drinking enough during the day. SHe would drink a max of 80mls. I have just moved her from Nan to Similac total comfort and it has made such a difference. She is now drinking 120ml bottles. So hopefully she will sleep better.

Carlene- have you tried baby led weaning. Some kids are different and dont want to be fed. This website is great and has some recipes too: www.babyledweaning.com ANother thing to do is to feed her with the family. She is old enough to watch the family and copy them by putting food into her mouth. Keira loves it when I give her a cooked carrot stick or piece of butternut and she is not even 6 months old yet.

All I did was to just give her water and then her dummy if she does wake up during the night. The first few times it took a while for her to go back to sleep, but now, she would just go back to sleep if I give her dummy to her. I did the same with my first girl. The thing is, most of the time, they wake up and need a comfort to go back to sleep and not of hunger. So if you offer them something other than milk, they will later on realize that it is night time and you must sleep during the night, but if they wake up and give them milk, that become their comfort. I don’t know, that is just my theory. But maybe Nathi is just a very hungry baby.

Wow how did you get the sleeping through routine right,jippers Nathi wakes up 3 times during the night for feeds i don't know how to make him sleep throughout.Unfortunetely i do not know what you can do to make Mia eat made try a vitamin medicine from the pharmacy for kids.Beautiful pictures hehehe your little girl has clothes like my little girl CUTE

Hi Ladies

I’ve been gone for a while, but hopefully I’ll get more time to chat. We are very busy at work and in the evening as well.

Well, we are doing fine. Mia was just less than 9kg @ 6months. She is finally sleeping through, well to me it is sleeping through. We bath 18h30 and then she will wake up for a bottle 4h30, but will go back to sleep after drinking her bottle. The only thing I struggle with is to get her to eat. She is almost 7 months and if we are lucky she will eat 2 scoops of cereal in the morning and maybe 5 “happies” in the afternoon. I tried everything, even yogurt and purity fruit. Nothing, she will keep that mouth of her shut. So any advice how to get her to eat, please give it to me. Well at least I know she is not underweight, so I guess we are still fine. O and she is only on 4 bottle formula milk of 150ml each.

Well not much more news from my side. Hope everyone is doing great.

Jaundra-im glad that your babies are now fine it is frustrating and exhausting when they are sick.

Hi Ladies,

Both my babies were down the whole weekend with baby measels. They both were running very high temps so mommy is exhausted today . They both seem much better.
Dont have much to post due to the fact that all Ive done is check temps and give meds.
