Welcome Simone C. Yes, that thread is dead, some of the girls chat here though. I am not too sure if they conceived naturally, does not say in the article, bit it sounds like it.I would prefer not to have Citro Soda at this stage, I'm going to try the cranberries first. Did you have natural or c section with your first?

Angi and Carolsch, I also really don't think I will survive multiples at this stage!!

Cranberry juice works! You can even by cranberry tablets over the counter.

Mummoo I hear you on the heartburn!!! It is a killer. I walk around with the biggest bottle of gaviscon you have ever seen. Will get some rennies though as the gaviscon makes me gag:(

ZelF....wow...what an article! 4 babies???? That is a shocker!! I had to laugh at them not ruling a number 5 out. Did they conceive naturally? not sure if it says in article and my afrikaans may be a bit rusty.

ZelF yes cranberry juice is good for UTI's. Can you have citro soda? Or would you prefer not to? In my first pregnany I was plagued by UTI's. Thankfully not so in this pregnancy!

I have a low lying placenta so my c-scetion dates have been discussed, but not finalised. I am 38w on 18th Dec but would like to have c-section a few days after that...so bummed I cant go full term at least. Looking at 21st/22nd December.

Otherwise pregnancy going great. WEight gain for myself thus far 500gms...so pretty happy about that.

AFM my Dr. appointment went well. Baby is growing nicely. Weighs 186g and no problems. My LG came with and just stared at the screen. It looks like we will be having another little girl... the Dr. couldnt confirm 100% but I am very happy if it is another little girl so Bekah can have a sister Also have most of the stuff then
I have put on 2kg since my last appointment and about 3kg over all - I am finding lots of my clothes are getting to small my preg book says that from now the weight gradually starts piling on Was not easy to eat healthy on holiday but will try now...

Marié en Riaan van Rensburg het al drie pare babaskoentjies gekoop toe hulle hoor daar is ’n vierde kleintjie op pad.

Sy het van pure skok gehuil toe die ginekoloog sê sy verwag ’n drieling.

Maar dit sou nog ’n volle ses maande duur voordat sy sou hoor daar is vier babas ... nee, drie ... nee, vier!

Mev. Marié van Rensburg van Ashton sê dit het haar byna twee jaar geneem om haar man, Riaan, te oorreed om ’n tweede baba te kry.

Hul eersteling, Zaria, is drie jaar oud. In April vanjaar het sy ’n swangerskaptoets tuis gedoen en tot haar vreugde gesien sy is swanger.

In Mei, reeds agt weke swanger, is sy ginekoloog toe vir die eerste sonar.

“Toe die dokter sê hy sien drie koppies op die skerm het ek begin huil: Nie van blydskap nie, van skok! Ek het eers ’n uur lank in die dokter se spreekkamer gesit voor ek my man met die gróót nuus gebel het.”

Riaan het dit goed hanteer.

“Ek dink sy woorde was: ‘Hulle gaan baie hartseer bring, maar baie meer vreugde.’?”

Riaan erken hulle was erg benoud. Marié voeg by: “Hoe maak ’n mens gereed vir drie?

“Ons moes begin dink aan ’n ­nuwe motor en nog ’n paar hande. En hoe ons geldelik die mas gaan opkom, want ek moes ophou werk. Met baie gebede, hoop, goeie vriende en die ondersteuning van familie het ons begin gereed maak vir drie.”
Hulle het selfs begin opgewonde raak, sê Riaan.

En toe gebeur dit.

Ses maande nadat die dokter haar oor die drieling ingelig het, het ’n vriendin haar vertel van ’n verpleegsuster in Montagu wat opgelei is om sonars te doen.

“Ek het toe besluit om te gaan, net om te hoor of die hartjies nog klop en of alles reg is.”

Die suster kyk toe en sê sý sien vier koppies op die skerm!

“Toe huil ek weer, dié keer heeltemal histeries.”

Marié is terug na haar ginekoloog en hy sien net drie babas.

“Ek was verlig, maar het bly wonder ...”

Op 22 weke is sy na ’n fetale spesialis, dr. Linne Muller, wat ook net drie koppe gesien het.

Maar die Van Rensburgs wou eens en vir altyd weet en is terug na Muller.

“Dr. Muller sien toe dié keer vier koppe. Toe huil ek weer! Maar dit was rêrig nie die dokters se fout nie. Die een het heeltemal agter die ander weggekruip.”

Marié sê hulle het al die skok verwerk en opgehou huil.

“Ons vriende spot dat daar dalk ’n vyfde een wegkruip – niks sal ons nou meer verbaas nie. Ons besef hoe geseënd ons is. As ek om ons kyk, sien ek hoe baie vroue sukkel om swanger te raak.”

Die drie dogtertjies en ’n seuntjie is gesond en het al name:

Loihan, Mieke, Jana en Anke.

“Ek is so bly oor die seuntjie vir my man se onthalwe, want anders was dit net ’n huis vol vroue.”

Sy weet dit gaan geldelik moeilik wees.

“Die stresvlakke is maar hoog as ons dink dat alles nou met vier vermenigvuldig moet word, maar ek glo God sou nie meer aan ons toevertrou het as wat ons kan hanteer nie.”
