AFM: went for my check up yesterday, everything is going great, when I heard the HB I was relaxed again, well we are TEAM PINK...she was laying with bum in the air...what can a person use to heartburn got it on Sunday and all we had was rennies didn't know if can use it so drank some milk...sorry for the question but are any of you suffering with constipation...I'm drinking water eating fruit and veggies, dr gave me stuff that I can drink but nix is helping...

Well, I was very happy with the Discovery bag I got this year. Got a Nuk bottle & dummy, a book, a Avent milk holder, a Baby Sense blanket, a receiving blanket and a lot of vouchers. But I’m loosing out on the Medi Clinic bag. I have to buy all that stuff to take to hospital. What I like about the Medi clinic bag is that it is not cheap products that they put in there. The Soap and the lotion cost something like R80 a bottle at Dischem. I applied for the Dischem Mom’s and Tot’s card as well. Apparently you get a bag from them in your third trimester. Don’t know what is in there, will have to wait and see.

Zel, Emma was also big on the sonars. She was 3.5kg with birth. But I think most of the times they cannot really give you an accurate reading. With the previous sonar she weight differently with each thing he measured. The head was measuring 560g. I think the rest was just over 500g. So I’m not really sure. I know Emma’s head was also very big. Her head was 35cm, she weighed 3.5kg and she was 53cm long. I think she got a liking in a 3 and a 5.

I’m also very tired today and I think my DH as well. Shame on Wednesday he went to work about 8h the evening and he got back home just before 3h. And the yesterday they told him that he must go and restart the 8ta servers, so he left home about 11h last night and came home round about 2h30. And 1h last night, some or other cat decided to come and visit us. I woke up when he jumped onto our bed. Had a bit of freight, because my cat disappeared about 4 months ago, so it was strange when he jumped unto the bed. So I chased the cat out of the house and went back to bed. It took me a while to fall asleep again and the Emma had a nightmare, so I was awake again. And she was very restless after that.

I’m going for a haircut this afternoon. Looking forward to that.
Yes Asleigh, we are so excited. The girl that’s doing the cupboards, also came yesterday to do the first measuring.

Maureen I feel your pain. My Dh is is the same. When he is sick it is as if the whole is coming to an end it works on my nerves big time.

Ive been a bit "kort van draad" the past couple of days. Blame it on the hormones!

Leaving work at 11 today. Got to go to a funeral in Vanderbijlpark. DH aunt passed away.

Carlene - I see they started with roof of your house yesterday. Looks like everything is on track there.

I am not in the best of moods this morning. I am sleeping very bad due to DH and Jamie being not well. I can't stand it when me are sick, at this point I want to take out DH tonsils with a teaspoon! Why when men are sick the world needs to stand still? But when we as women are sick do we still need to ensure food on the table, clean cloths, do the washing and so forth!

I like the Medi Clinic Bags. They are great. I had a discovery bag with Jamie and that was good as well. So will see what happens. Bestmed contacted me yesterday to tell me that the bag will be sent in November and I will receive and sms to collect.

Yay - it's Friday!!!

Maureen, with which Gynae are you again?(if I remember correctly you're going to Kloof as well?) I have read a bit yesterday about the injections, and I'm feeling better about it. Have to take it at least 24 hours before baby is born for it to work, that's why some Gynaes prefers to give it as precaution.
We are with Bestmed as well, and I was VERY dissappointed in the bag last year with Janu. There really was not much in it, a lot of pamphlets(not even discount vouchers), and like AmandaSchade said, the best was the pads . The bag was way better in 2007 with Ewan, then we got Avent bottles, dummys, toiletries etc. The other thing was that I got it late, I was not impressed.
And yes, that list of the Mediclinic bag is right, thats the one I got when I booked my bed. The sister also said the new bag is much nicer than the previous one they had.

Carlene, yes, it sounds if you will have a big baby as well. Was Emma a big baby? Both my boys was big, but it looks like this little madam will be smaller, will see what she weighs on the 25th.

Not much news on my side, at least I slept better last night, so feeling much more rested today! Looking forward seeing all the PTA ladies tomorrow! Wish all the other ladies could have join us!!

Cottong wool
Baby moisturiser

According to that I just need to have 5 outfits, receiving blankets, warm blanket and a bottle or dummy if I wasn't breast feeding.

If you receive your Mediclinic bag first nothing else will impress you
I have received a baby bag from Telemed (which became Bestmed) and Bankmed and Telemed was the best. I'm currently with Bankmed and the only useful thing in it are the maternity pads The Telemed bag had great samples and baby bottles (Pigeon / Nuk).

I used Bio Oil in first pregnancy but now am using Lay's lanolin/olive oil cream - I don't itch - yay!
