I see we are still pretty even with boys and girls. This rarely happens, one sex usually dominates.

Don't know where I heard it, but with my first pregnancy I was sure I was told/heard that only gaviscon is safe in pregnancy and that I couldn't take rennies???

Carlene - the Discovery bag is only when you are on Vitality hey? On what plan are you currently. I just looked at the contributions for next next year and we will pay a whopping R4787 for the four of us.

Congrats on the girl Angi. Now you can go and buy all the nice girly stuff. I luv my LG and I'm Ssssoooo glad I'm having a girl again. With my first pregnancy the Doctor told me that I'm only allowed to drink Gaviscon. But buy the peppermint flavor; the other one is not nice.

Mummoo, I hope the two doesn't get too big for your stomach and that they stay there as long as possible. I got my bag from discovery after 12weeks. You must just "book your bed" with them and get a ref number and then they mail you a letter that you can take with when you collect your bag. The Dischem one they will phone you to go and collect.

The reason why the gynaes give the steroid injections is to ensure that the lungs produce surfactant which is a substance required to breath. If there is no surfactant/ not enough, then the lungs inflate with a breath but then collapses so the baby would need to be put on the ventilator to assist. Apparently they generally do this for twins as they are more like to come earlier i.e. born prematurely.

My babies are above the Discovery weight schedule as my first one was too. She wasn't a fat baby but a tall girl (like her dad) and weighed 3.95kg at birth. She is 2and a half now but is quite tall so looks like a 4year old. The only thing I'm worried about is that my babies get too big for me and then I may just go into pre-term labour! They must just hang on until the new year at least!

I am not too sure about the Rennies, but know Gaviscon is safe! I am using Pro-Biotics everyday, knows it helps with the constipation as well. How are you feeling otherwise?
