Cakes, enjoy the last two weeks before the wedding. We understand that you are very busy at the moment. As for the stretch mark’s with my previous pregnancy I used Bio-oil and Happy event and still got stretch marks. I asked my gyne and he said that some ladies can use what they want and they will still get it. I’m one of those unlucky ones. This time I tried Bio-oil again, but it made my skin very dry for some reason. Now I’m using some other cream that I got with my Vitamins. I can’t remember the name. Haven’t got any new stretch marks, but it is still early days. :(

Ai Maureen, hope your hubby will be better soon and that you don’t get sick as well.

With my previous pregnancy I started to get contractions at 32weeks. I was admitted to hospital and they gave me medicine to stop the contractions and they started to give me steroid injections for Emma’s lungs just incase she was born that weekend.
Well, the contractions stopped and she was born @ 39weeks via C-sec with VERY GOOD lungs.

Mummoo, sounds like your twins are also nice and big already. According to Discovery Baby a baby is suppose to weigh 450g-650g by 24weeks. Mine was 560g already by 22weeks. So then I’m also having a big baby. Well, I guess as long as they are healthy they can weigh what they want to.

Zel - I asked my Dr. regarding the injections because Jamie was born at just over 33 weeks. She said that it is not necassary. I never really asked why it wasn't necassary and why some doctors insist on it. I will ask at next appointment on the 9th of November. But it would be good to know what the other ladies who have had prem babies think about it and how they feel about it?

Maureen, holding thumbs that's it just a normal UTI and nothing else.

You are lucky with your worker Juandre! Mine is also not to bad with the days off, but she is so slow and old - the work is getting too much for her. Tried to get her to come and work 5 days and she can stay in during the week at the beginning of the year(she currently works 3 days for me and off the other 2 days) but she wouldn't. I must get somebody full time next year, and if she's not happy with the salary, I will let her go.

Nice to hear from you Mummoo!! Like Juandre said - you must rest - keep the girls in as long as possible! They are a nice weight already though! And I think you have not picked up much weight at all! The Gynae said I'm getting steriod injections as well from 32 weeks, because of previous pre-term labour. Do any of you girls know if there might be any negative side effects to baby of this, or what the implication is? Will ask Gynae at next visit as well, and of course - Google ;)

I put the Bio-Oil on during my shower, or you can put it into your bathwater as well.

Mummoo- although having twins scares me it must be so special. The bond they form whilst in the womb will stay with the forever!!! Well done on the weight gain... wow, I think by 24 weeks alot of woman are that with only a singleton.
Be careful not to overdo it... want those girls in for as long as possible.

Maureen- at least it is not likely to be anything serious.

Hey ladies

Sorry I have been MIA for the past week or so. Life has been a bit hectic. Last week I had an offsite workshop and and offsite management meeting. Also went to the Coldplay concert which was pretty cool. We have been super busy with my FIL leaving for pilgrimage to Mecca. He left on Tuesday morning so now I'm trying to catch up on my rest!

Went for our 24 week scan last week and the girls were doing so good. One was 821grams and the other 771 grams. They always seem to be laying with their heads together! My sister was saying they like to keep each other company with sweet whispers :-) They were lying - one like a comma and the other an upside down comma. So cute:-) My little girl kisses my tummy everyday now and asks - "mom, how is your babies today?" Such a cutie pie.

At the next appointment on 1 Nov - 28 weeks, I will be getting steroid injections for their lungs for "just-in-case" they arrive early (which is normally the case for twins). Really want to keep them in until the new year - have a feeling that they will come in the first week of Jan.

Got all my letters from my gynae - she is putting me off on bed rest from 32 weeks which is 1 Dec which means 1 and a half months left of work! Then will take my actual maternity leave in Jan.

Also starting aqua aerobics on Monday until end Nov just to make me feel a bit fitter and healthy.

I picked up 8kgs so far! I think I'm gonna start piling on from here on out.

Juandre, I googled it, it can be a normal UTI. That is why doctor would want him to finish the antibiotics before doing another urine test.

Zel- I am also not sleeping well, but not because of baby... not sure why. I am very sure the Bola will work as I have a few friends that have used them with success. So for now you need to wear it on a long chain or string/ piece of leather so it "bounces" on your tummy so baby can hear it. Then when baby is born you put it on a normal neck chain.

Cakes- With my other two pregnancies I used Happy event during the day (to avoid oil on my clothes) and bio oil at night. I only got marks on my boobs with my first pregnancy cause I didnt think to put cream/oil on them. Didnt get any last time around. This time I cant stand the smell of happy event- it makes me want to throw up. So I am using the Johnsons tissue oil as it comes in a spray bottle and so is easy to apply. The truth is it is good to moisturise the skin with these things but if you are going to get marks nothing will stop it. Some ppl have skin that streches well and others dont

Maureen- my only experience with liver enzymes was when I had pre-eclampsia that turned into Hellp syndrome with MG. AT that point it meant that my liver was not functioning properly and infact mine was at such a high level that my liver was totally shutting down.

My maid had been off this week as her daughter is not well. This is the first time in the 7 years that I have had her that she has taken off besides her normal leave. She even comes in when she is sick and I have to send her off so she doesnt spead her germs. We have been coping, everyone chipping in at home. But I havent done any ironing, DH said not to worry he is sure we can make do!
