Hi ladies

It has been a while!

I must just say that somewhere along the line, I did something wrong.
My baby that started sleeping well from 7pm - 3am and then till 6am has disappeared.
She wakes up every 2-3 hours at night. Im exhausted.
I just don't know what to try anymore!!! I think im on the verge of giving up.
and just come to terms with the fact that I am never gonna get a good nights rest again!!

Jaimey is now 5 months old already! She drools constantly - i give her some teething gell every now and again. Im thinking of getting one of those amber teething necklaces. Everyone I have spoken to swear by it. What do you guys think? Any of you have one?

Jaimey does tummy time - she is rolling from tummy to back. She kicks herself a bit on her tummy and goes a bit forward but no hands yet. When she is on her back she pushes her legs and moves around on her back.

She is also sitting now unaided with pillows around her. she sits for a while before she topples over. She likes to touch things and is starting to grab things although her co-ords for grabbing with both hands and pulling it up is not so great!!

How are all your babies doing?

I have been back at work since 7 Jan - it feels like I never left. leaving work and picking up both girls and then going home to bath, cook, pack school bags, play etc etc is hectic - I am struggling to find a balance. It is just too hard sometimes.

Im sure some of you should be back at work now - or going back shortly?

Camryn had her 4th birthday yesterday and she has been an awesome big sister. She just wants to pick Jaimey up all the time but Jaimey is just too heavy for her, so we have to watch her carefully. Jaimey loves her sister and stares at her all the time. Camryn plays peek a boo with her and keeps her company some times when Im busy in the kitchen.
I hope the friendship between them lasts and that they don't end up always fighting with each other when they bigger.

Other than that - not much else going on. Trying to lose my baby fat - going slowly but going at least. I need to get rid of the spare tyre around my middle - any suggestions of exercise or easy things to do for that? provided I can fit in some time between the girls.

Im so glad its friday and weekend - we having camryn's bday party tomorrow and then sunday chilling and relaxing.

BETTS F - Hope that it is nothing too serious with Eli and that he gets better soon!!

oh yes and Jaimey is on solids. cereal in the morning and veg at night. We still on the first lot of veggies - she seems to like it only when she has had a few mouth fulls. The first few mouth fuls are quite funny to see the faces she pulls. She loves her cereal though.

Well I better be off - Hope to hear from you mommies soon.

have a good weekend!

Everyone on this page has gone AWOL. :(

Well been back at work almost a month now, But have had the worst two weeks with E, hes had a runny tummy non stop. Ive changed formulaes, Tests have been done for food intolerance, viruses etc, all coming back negative. Ive literally had no sleep the past two weeks. We are going for a second opinion tomorrow. Because he is normal otherwise, playing, no temp, hes hydrated but his tummy goes multiple times a day and its been continuous for two weeks.

How is everyone else?

Hi Ladies!

Hope everyone is well and so are the little ones!

Alexis laughed for the first time yesterday its was just too adorable. she still hasnt rolled and refuses to be on her belly, actually coughs as soon as she lies on her tummy whether on a soft surface or hard! Will have to bring it up tomorrow when I see the paed. Also her BCG injection site has only just gone into a pimple and now it has a little pus underneath the skin so hope it isnt infected!

BettsF how is your little man? As for the solids, I tried a little with Alexis 2 weeks ago, as she constantly watches us eat our food and eats her hands straight after her feeds. They say you should really try veggies and fruit first but I tried some rice cereal, she kept laughing everytime I put the spoon in her mouth and just pushed the food out - so she isnt ready! Will try again next week. I say whenever you feel he is ready it doesnt harm trying (although everyone says their digestive systems arent ready before 6 months). Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Hello everyone, how are the babies?

Well im back at work, have been since the 14th January. So far so good, Eli seems to be coping okay without his mum, not like he has much of a choice i guess. He is at home with his own nanny and i have another for my older son and the house. Being back at work is such a drag, its like i never left. :(

Supposed to be taking Eli for his 4 month shots this week and for a weigh in, but i suspect he is coming down with something, so i may postpone. Have you ladies starting giving some thought about solids? when do you think you will start. Im thinking 4.5 or 5 months. somewhere there.

Good Morning Ladies,

What an upsetting morning it has been for me. I got paid R128.43 from UIF as my first payment - really didnt see that coming at all, so tomorrow I will be off to the labour centre to give the next form and ask them about it! (I only sent my forms in, in December). :(

JB thank you, I figured out over the weekend she was overtired and thats why she fights to get back to sleep! Will definitely try the tummy time after the mid morning nap see if that works although Ali has been slowly getting into it. She too has started to lift her head away from the bed or chair as if to lift herself up, its amazing how these small things are such huge achievements that I would never have taken into consideration until actually having my own little baby!

Goodluck on finding a school and a home - new beginnings for the new year!

Otherwise hope everyone else is doing well!

Have a lovely day :)

Hi girls

She we are quiet hey!

Lauz sounds like your LO is doing very well :)
The pulling them up by the arms is excellent exercise at this point.
I do it on the changing matt, and then also use their arms to move them side to side while cleaning bum and changing diaper.
You can also roll them along the width of the bed from back to tummy to help their tummy muscles.
Rei is getting good with tummy time but it's all about timing. I read in baby sense to do it after their mid morning nap then they are usually nice and refreshed and happily awake longer.

Sounds like you are getting her down a little too late then she is over tired. The kicking of legs and moaning Rei does too when over tired. Sometimes then they respond better when not in our arms.
I put Rei down on her side on the bed and pull her top leg over her bottom so she's half way on her tummy, put her dummy in her mouth and give her her blankey which she cuddles and if its the right time she closes her eyes and starts to fall asleep.
Sometimes I have to pat her bum too. And I hum and have the sleep sheep on.
But this holiday has been so hectic with everyone at home and looking after Kaylee that I dont get her down at the right time and then it's a real mission to get her calmed down and sometimes I do the dummy run for over an hour after getting her down.

Monica I hope Jaimey is doing better now.
Shew 3 hourly is crazy! Maybe just a growth spurt? Hopefully she is sleeping through now!
Rei is the same she loves being upright and really tries hard to. She rolls from her back onto her side. I thought maybe she'll go onto her tummy soon but hasnt happened yet. From her tummy she almost gets to her side but needs a bit more of a push.
Today I was amazed. Rei was lying on her back on her changing mat and from that position managed to lift her head up a bit!

McKim if he is over 7KG and over 4 months you can start introducing cereal.
If you have the baby sense book it has a great guide on how to introduce otherwise go see a breastfeeding clinic about it. Usually its introduced at around 5pm which along with her last milk feed would keep the tummy fuller for longer. They should have dropped the midnight feed by now so hopefully it will happen soon.

Rei has her last feed between 6 & 7pm and then wakes anywhere between 2 & 4am again, and then 3 hours later. But we have a major problem at the moment.
Since Kaylee was sick last week her routine is totally stuffed and she is not sleeping through. She wakes up 1-2 times a night crying, either for milk or potty or just because. She goes back to work straight away but she wakes Rei who then stays awake for an hour at times :S

BettsF the ecsma on the ankles - is it where the roll ends or the foot bends?
Cos Kaylee had it and Rei too. And I think it's from the sweat.
I just put on the epizone E cream, and baby powder over all the bends that tend to sweat.

Belaine we have been in touch but I am thinking of you!

I start work again on 1st Feb (how did I choose a Friday to start working!)
I am weaning Rei from the breast. have dropped the 3pm feed so far and next week I drop the 12pm feed for 2 weeks, and then when I go back to work I will drop the 9am feed. I will express before work, when I get home and before bed. At the moment I am expressing at 7pm and 10pm, one for the 3pm feed and one for storage which next week will become the second feed.

We are trying to find a school for the girls right now. Rei has a daymom to go to for now (kaylee's one) but we want K at a nursery school for more stimulation for her age. But because we don't know yet if our tenants want to stay on, or if we want to give them notice for moving out end of April, nor what hubby's increase due in April we're finding it very difficult to make a call on which area to put them in.
Looked at 3 places so far. 2 very nice but just too big for my liking. One lovely and perfect in my eyes but would entail us moving to a new area which is one of the options we are considering. But it makes very difficult to make any decisions just yet but we feel the pressure to do so as the schools are getting full quickly.

Anyways, must go express and get to bed now!

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hello Ladies,

Happy New Year to everyone may 2013 be a wonderful year for you and your families :)

Got so much to catch up on, having hubby around hogging the computer has kept me from commenting.

Belaine Im so sorry, just not good news at all! I hope you are okay and that you have found a new job!

Zoe dont forget that your little one did come early so he might not be ready just yet for certain things. I have the baby sense app and the wonder weeks app on my iphone and they truely have been a blessing on what is possibly going on in that little mind of theirs and what to expect with my little one!

BettsF & Mckkim, Ali is also doing the exact same thing, loads of drool, hands always in her mouth to the point that she makes herself gag, everyone keeps telling me that she is hungry, ive even considered maybe starting her on solids thinking she is hungry, but I keep getting told she is too young (14 weeks), l even brush her gums daily now with X-gel and gauze and she absolutely loves it so who knows!

I am definitely very lucky in the sleeping department. Ali goes down at 7pm and only wakes up at 4am. She hasnt started rolling or even trying and also hates tummy time if its more than 5 min so to strengthen her neck and back ive been doing pull ups (grabbing her by her arms and slowly lifting her to a sitting position and lowering her)! She absolutely loves to sit and so I prop her up with pillows on each side of her or pop her in her rocking chair.

She has recently learned to make like a gggg gargling sound and a brrr with her lips absolutely love it when she does that while talking to me! a new thing that kinda has got me a little sad and worried is that it looks like she gets irritated with me and screams and cries really loud and kicks her legs like mad when I try get her to sleep. It got so bad yesterday that I just put her in her crib and she calmed down straight away with the mobile on and fell asleep. I know how babies feed off your energies and so im always calm with her but it doesnt help, anyone gone through the same thing?

anyway hope everyone is doing well otherwise! :)
