Hi ladies
I see we all have similar issues-those with more than 1 kid, trying to juggle your time (and try not feel guilty about it!)beep if you are breast feeding as DH can't o that much and you both end up feeling like single parents!

McK also only soothes on the boob, which takes up so much time! I struggle to get her to take a dummy

Yesterday we had a bad day-she won't sleep for more than 30mins at a time, so most of my day she was attached firmly to my boob-couldn't do anything!!
At least she's back to her usual self today-having her 3rd sleep
She lives with her knees tucked under her-wont sleep on her back or side and even pulls her knees up when you hold her.
She did go thru a stage of throwing up after every feed for a few days, but that's passed now

It seems like she may have dropped a night feed already-3rd night in a row that she's missed her 01:00 feed (21:00,03:00,07:00) which def helps my sleep as well!

OMG-don't you just love the funny little faces they pull? ESP when they've just woken up or want to feed, and they get so excited and 'play' with the boob

I haven't weighed myself yet but I think I've lost most of the weight-I just have a flabby tummy pouch now and a horrible stretch mark that's pinky-purple
Am using bio oil twice daily but does anyone have any other fixes for stretch marks and tummy pouches?

Hi giirls, just been going through the mail. Monica I can so relate, that's exactly hoew I felt at the beginning, completely overwhelmed, many a time I would be in tears, but its gotten so much better and I have to say in my live in nanny is a godsend, my older son is in half day nursery and comes home at 12, she literally keeps him busy the whole afternoon, till dh gets home, she dresses him in the mornings too, and he adores her, I've had her for about 6 years now. Otherwise with a baby and 3 year old to tend to, I would not have coped. 5h also helps by cooking in the evenings, but I try to spend time with my older son, while Eli sleeps. It is not easy, I'm still breastfeeding exclusively, had tried to introduce one bottle of formulae a day, but he's just not interested, not sure I can do the expressing when I go back to work. Ginah, my 6 week ap is this coming week, I've thought of the mirena, but I'm scared of the side effects. Also I've lost about 14 kg so far, but now I'm stagnant on 61 kg, I still have 8 kg to lose to reach my pre preggy weight, will the mirena make things worse.? Been lucky so far, no colic issues. Please mind my typo's I'm using my phone.

Hi Monica

I see you also have one light haired and one dark haired beauty :)
Everyone says Rei looks like me because of her dark hair, but if you look at Kaylee's pics from birth, they're exactly the same except for the hair.

I feel you on the stress hun, and its only been 2 weeks for me. The 3 days in hospital were so peaceful! The problems seemed to start once we got home.
Our colic is definitely due to gas more than anything, as whenever she has it I pull her legs into her tummy and she lets off a lot of wind with it, and then settles almost immediately.
I find her coping / soothing mechanism to the pain is to want the breast. She is not interested in dummy. But no doubt drinking more makes more gas and cramps. And when she wants boob, you can do just about everything, dummy will not soothe her.
But you know, this is pretty much how Kaylee was. We struggled until 16 weeks which is pretty long considering I'll be back at work by then if we have the same problems so long.
I am just trying to remind myself that it will get better, try and learn from each day what works best, and then give it a try the next day. It's very much trial and error. Already in the last 2 days I've seen 'some' improvement, even though I still spent 3 hours today trying to console her (lots of boob time) it can only get better?

I dont know how you fit work in. I hardly get time for a shower, and fail completely at house work, cooking etc.
I must say I'm still very sore, today especially so. And TMI maybe but I cant do a #2, it's too sore to push. I also find the pain is mostly on the left side, like a nerve got bruised.

Really hope you'll start taking 10 steps forward now Monica!!!

.
What I remember from last time, is that without my friends who were on the same page as me, I'd never have coped!

Hi ladies

well it has been a while for me.
My baby is keeping me very busy. She is still very much colicky - cries from about 4/5pm to 8/9pm each night. some nights are better than others. We have tried just about everything and I have now also taken her to the chiropractor as they say with C section babies they don't stretch their back down the birth canal and so it affects them.
I also think that the colic is due to wind, gas and cramps. We have got her on telement drops now which def helps with the burping although she still sucks in lots of air with the bottle.
I have stopped breastfeeding as it was just getting way too much for me - emotionally I am not coping very well with all of this. Now that she is on formula it seems to be getting better - however as I say this i am touching wood cos one day it goes better the next it feels like we have taken 10 steps backwards.

As like you JB - i also miss my older child. I certainly have not spent enough time with her as I should and things are not the same cos I always have a baby stuck on me. Camryn has been a star though and tries to help me with baby Jaimey as much as she can. She really has been such a good girl. She does try her luck though sometimes but its not at all bad. Which im glad for as I could not deal with 2 screaming children each day - my nerves are already shot with just 1.
It feels like im losing my mind and going crazy some days.

I love the peace and quiet some mornings when Camryn has gone to work and Baby Jaimey is sleeping.

I have started working from home so that also puts me under a lot of pressure even though I have not been doing that much work. I guess its just the thought of if and having to try fit it in inbetween feeds and things.

I must say that having this 2nd baby has really been very rough and tough for me and for our little family. I never had a clue that it would be this hard and I WILL DEFINATELY NOT BE HAVING ANOTHER ONE - AT ALL! Being a mom to 2 very different children so you have to be a different mom to each one (2 roles) and try and be a good girlfriend (which shame that has def not happened) and a woman and employee. It has become way too much for me - taking rescue remedy to try and cope.

Belaine - i see you were doing what I was doing and that was formula during the day and breastfeeding at night. I only did that for about 2 weeks and then decided to stop the breast as i think it was confusing Baby as she was not taking so much formula with the bottle as what she is supposed to.

We went for our 6 week check ups and all is good. Jaimey was on 4.9kgs already and 59cm - very tall. I was checked out as all good. Although yesterday and today my cut is hurting me on 1 side and it has been 8 weeks already this week. So i don't know.
The injections were bad but Jaimey coped relatively ok - she cried a little but not too much.
I just want to know how much your 6 week injections cost? mine was R1800 (I almost passed out - can;t believe that it is soooo expensive).

Anyways besides that I hope everyone is doing well and that you are enjoying your bundles of joy.

I will try come online again soon - although not very easy with everything going on in this house.

keep well.

Hi girls

Shew its quiet on here!

Glad all babies are doing well, and most importantly are healthy.
Can't believe some of you are already getting ready to go back to work yikes!
Zoe so gorgeous!

Just a quick one my side while Rei sleeps. (Still got to hang washing and finish budget and some admin stuff!)
Had my stitches removed on Monday and since then I have lower back type period pains, its quite frustrating cos I was hoping to be more mobile by now.
I have managed to loose 10kgs to date yipee! Only picked up 7 so I'm happy. Since getting home the family (and church) is fasting which means no sweets or snacks or any luxuries until 30 November. This will definitely help the weight loss department. I'm hoping to loose another 15 before I go back to work on 1 Feb, so 5 a month, hopefully I can do it!

Rei is growing nicely. It's been pretty tough though. She developed a horrible nappy rash which I thought was thrush, but apparently just due to all her poo's. So using bepanthen and its much better. Now she has blocked tear ducts so must get something for that too.
She loves her milk, and has gained her birthweight back and some. Will go for another weigh in next week. Drinks 2.5-3hourly during the day, and still much the same at night. At night I dream feed her, so I lie down and pretty much dose while she drinks, and then burp and put her back in her cot next to me, roll over and get back to sleep.
But we have been struggling a lot with cramps since about a week ago. It's definitely wind related, and I find pushing her legs into her tummy helps the best, but it has gone on for 6 hours at a time some days and she doesnt seem settled unless asleep so it's been pretty hard for me, and I've been very emotional and down since getting home from the hospital, which is very difficult when you're living with 4 other people.

Kaylee is doing well. She loves Rei. She seems so big now and so grown up! They started potty training at school this week. Daymom expects that it'll take 2 weeks and she'll be fully trained during the day. Looking forward to that!
I feel really bad for neglecting her its weighing heavy on my emotions. In the mornings Rei is typically feeding when Kaylee wakes up, so I cant get up for her. She comes in to say good bye to me and then I dont see her till 6pm when the grandparents bring her home. Then Rei is inevitably drinking and I cant pay Kaylee much attention either. I bath her, which is nice, and I do try spend time with her inbetween, but shew its not nearly like it used to be. I really miss her so much during the day and feel so guilty about it, but there's just no ways I'd cope with both of them at the moment :(
Once Rei is over her colic, and my cut is healed, I'll prob keep her home one day a week, and go out somewhere with the kids to try and spend some time alone with them.

Those who want 3 kids - please give me the pills you're taking cos jees I cant imagine that lol!

Pictures please!!!

Hello Ladies

Hope you are all enjoying your little bambinos.

Baby O is now 7weeks, last week we went for our six
weeks check with gynae and the pead, all is well with
both of us. baby O weighed 5.1kg forgot the length.
On wed we went to the clinic for the injections on the
thursday and he cried so much shame :(
He sleeps very well at night but is sometimes niggly during
the day.

All the best to those who are still going to try again, I am
done. I also sterelized so am not on any contraceptive but
I can vouch for the mirena.

All babies are so cute
JB I also found still pain to be not as effective, myprodol does a better job.

Take Care

Hi mommies! What gorgeous babies. Zoe cat zachary looks like a lil girl, he's so cute and joy baby, nice birth weight. Things are getting better on our end, Eli has been sleeping well, either that or I have adjusted to the regular wake up calls, had his paed ap on wednesday, he's just over a month old now and weighing in at 4kgs. So he's gained over a kilo. I'm happy abt that, we are still on newborn dipers, and newborn clothes though. How is everyone else keeping? Belaine, how were the shots?
