good morning Ladies,

BettsF Eli is too cute man! And Monic@R, Jaimey is adorable, all that hair - I love it!!!

Betts, Alexis is pretty much on a 3 hour feed 90ml formula, excepting round the evening she pretty much has for the last few days made us feed her around 7.30pm even if she had a feed at 6.00pm and then she is down until midnight. She is on the wide neck Nuk bottles although she took to Avent as well in the beginning.

Monic@R, i started Alexis on Isomil and everyone swears by it that its the best for gas and cramps, I personally had to disagree she constantly was crying and I could never get a burp or anything out of her, I tried tissue salts for colic in it and it still didnt work until I used the telement drops with it. I didnt like the idea that I had to constantly add the telement drops and asked my paed what her 3rd suggestion was (i had tried first Nan, then Isomil...) and she suggested Similac Total Comfort, it has been the best recommendation ever, Alexis seldom burbs but the wind comes out in little farts they too cute, she has two poops a day on it, although the last 2 days she has only had one, but even she is much happier.

If you do decide to try it, do not get it from Reggies, they charge R180 a can whereas Dischem charges R130! Dont feel alone with Jaimey being awake during the day Alexis pretty much is the same naps for about 45min, she has lately been fighting her sleep but I keep saying id rather have her do that during the day than at night.

Have you tried the baby sense sling or any sling for that matter for when she wants to be with you, I pop Ali in when she doesnt want to sleep or be held by DH, free's up my hands and I pretty much can do most things.

I wanted to find out if any of you have experienced your lo's with lots of saliva and bubbles, and then she chews on her hands? Ali for the last week has had this, will ask the paed if its normal or not, doesnt seem to bother her only me lol, since i get full of drool if I lay her on my chest!

have a good day all and speak soon!

Hi ladies

I have not been here for a while.
Things are going a bit better with my little girl - starting to enjoy her now. The first 2 months have been a blur and nightmare and hectic chaos. But all seems to be getting better now.

JB - you mentioned that i have 1 light hair and 1 dark hair child. The truth be told but Camryn was born with just as much dark hair as what Jaimey has now. She slowly went lighter so Im almost positive that Jaimey will also go lighter. It would be nice if she stays dark but I don't think so.

Jaimey is now on formula. Isomil only because the clinic sister said we start off with the formula that i used for camryn and see how it goes. So we on Isomil and I think it is ok. She has a bit of gas and sometimes she throws up a little after a feed. I am hoping it will settle, otherwise if not - what do you suggest? Do you think I should change the formula and see if its any better? I just know that you should not swop and change formulas as that is also not too good.
I am also using the nuk wide bottles with the new super soft less colic teats.

Jaimey is 10 weeks old tomorrow and we having injections again on thursday. Shame.

Camryn has also settled so nicely now with the baby although she does still have a few moments where she gets jealous but that is understandable. Camryn has actually been an angel and we have tried to show her that we really appreciate it so I think that helps.
I have noticed though that somedays when Jaimey is screaming then Camryn gets louder (whether its playing with her barbies or singing or whatever - the volume goes up ;-) ) - They already competing with each other. ;)

Lauz - I really do like the telement drops - i see the difference when I forget to give it to her before a feed. I must also admit that I also have the baby blues - or had - but somedays when it gets too much - still have. I referred to Jaimey as that baby or the baby or your baby - not my baby. But that is slowly changing now.

All your babies are truly gorgeous and too cute.

Jaimey is on size 2 nappies now and into the 0 - 3 months clothes. When we go for injections on thursday they will weigh her and then Ill let you know how much she has gained so far.

Jaimey is very "ma vas" !! Only got eyes for me, only wants me and cries when anybody else takes her. That is a bit hard for me as you well know you cannot hold your baby all the time as you also need to do things. So i have had to learn to try and get as much done or prepared as possible while she is sleeping - cos as she wakes up - i have to be at her beck and call. (it is nice to have that feeling - but it can be hectic sometimes cos not even dad can hold her :-()

She also only really naps during the day like 20 min - 45 min a time. There may be once during the day that she will have a good sleep. Its not too bad cos then she is tired at night and has been sleeping quite well at night. Like will go down at 8pm and sleep until 3am/4am. She has done a 9 -5 a few times too.
She sleeps in camp cot next to our bed at night. As soon as I know for sure that she sleeps for so long at night I will move her to her own room.

Anyways i think this post is way long.... It is just that i don't get much time to post so now Im posting all my news.

Hope you all well and babies doing well.

Hi girls, Certainly quiet on here these days, I'm guessing the babies are keeping us very busy hey. Lauz, alexis is so cute. How are we doing with the sleeping patterns? Eli is still up every 3 hours, its quite tough, some nights ate better than others. I want him to start taking one bottle a day of formulae, so he's used to it, when I return to work, but he keeps rejecting the bottle when I try to feed him. I'm using the tommee tippee bottles and nan, I have to get mayne the avent and nuk bottles to see if he takes them. He really loves his breast. He is growing quite well I think, I'm moving him onto the number two diapers and he's outgrown most of his newborn clothes.

Hello Ladies.

How is everyone doing? Hope you are all well and your Lil ones are growing nicely!
Firstly all the babies are absolutely gorgeous - Just too cute, please keep posting pics!

I really take my hat off again to all of you that are breastfeeding, I will most probably now know how to deal with it when I have baby no 2 but I just couldnt cope at all with Alexis. It was a combination of just too many things, one of the main things being that I just couldnt eat, and losing 6kg within the first week obviously just didnt help.

I am able to look back and admit that I had some serious baby blues, sadly I didnt really feel that unconditional love that everyone talks about, Ive only really started to feel it slowly coming now - Ive asked myself many times if im a bad mom not feeling that type of love for my child, my gorgeous little girl, but I suppose I needed time to gather everything and realise I am a Mom and she is my precious little child!

Next week will be our 6 week check up, I can definitely see that Alexis has grown in length but I keep weighing her and dont seem to see her gaining, and considering she is on formula I thought she would gain quickly! Will have to see what the paed says.

@ Monic@R, telement drops really do help, I found that however when I changed my Lg to Similac Total Comfort I no longer needed the Telement drops, I only use it when I have made a formula just before a feed and its still full of bubbles cause its amazing how the Telement drops just clear the foam and bubbles immediately.

@Robyn_C you so right the little faces they pull are too adorable, I could watch her all day! As for the stretch marks just keep at it with oil, I had a reaction from bio oil so I just use plain tissue oil, I have them on my thighs, make sure however that you exfoliate the skin, doesnt help putting oil on and its just soaking into dry dead skin cells! and when putting the oil on try to massage the area as much as possible the you see erythema (the skin go red) this shows you working that oil into the lower layers of the skin and increasing the blood flow in turn increasing the lymphatic system. The tummy pouch - pilates is truely the best for tummy's.

BettsF Im also sitting on 61kg, I have 5kg to lose to get back to my pre pregancy weight, and its all sitting around my buttocks and thighs!

I wish I could get back into my dancing but with it being year end they close so it looks like it will have to be this program that I have at home called insanity. Its a killer but will start out slowly :)

Take care everyone.

My little munchkin at 1 month

Hello Ladies

JB I also felt pain mostly on the left. During my op I
heard the nurse saying something about a torn muscle.
Its 7weeks now and I feel a lot better. I have even gone
back to gym, seeing the dietician next week. I need to be on
a program as I also have sweet tooth. I have lost about 12kgs

Betts I had the mirena on for three years and had no side effects.
Right now I dont need any contraceptives as I have sterilized.
There is also the patch, I know about four ppl who used it and it worked.

I think my LB also suffers from winds from tym to tym. I am also
lucky that I have a fultime nanny and both my older kids go to school
and daycare. I never thot I would have three kids but here I am a mommy
of three and getting used to it. Think LB makes it easier by being sweet.

LB also hates the bottle, he refuses to drink it if I give him. Only drinks if
the nanny gives him the bottle. Re spending tym with older kids, I am planning
to do so once LB is a bout 3 months and I can leave him with daddy and go
out with the girls.

You will all get used it and look back and think it wasnt so bad.
Re injections I only paid R200 for consultation @ Casternhof clinic.
Netcare clinics charge about R150 for the government injections. They
are just as good as the private ones.

JB I have added you on whats app

Enjoy your weekend.
